MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear School Families, November is off to a great start! We are always busy and there is always excitement on campus. We're all looking forward to our Annual Saints’ Trivia Bee, Fall Book Fair and Pastries with Parents before the break. Third grade is busy preparing for their Saints Gallery and musical program for this year. We always look forward to partnering with the parish on feeding the hungry in the area through our Thanksgiving Food Drive. We have a Celebrate & Communicate meeting for Paduan Parents along with a Mission Matters on Discipline – A Call to Responsibility scheduled for next week.

We hope parents can join us. Our weeklong Thanksgiving holiday will be here before you know it, and we're looking forward to spending time with family and friends.

Our discipleship message for the week is about our character trait for the month KINDNESS. Kindness is being caring, compassionate, loving and considerate. It is showing concern for the feelings of others and being helpful and generous. It is doing good without thought of a reward or getting something in return. Kindness is a new character trait for us this year. We have been working since the start of the school year to build a culture of kindness in our school. Stories of Jesus in the Bible overflow with acts of kindness. These acts of kindness speak of love, joy and healing. In the stories we find Jesus touching lives and making differences. He spent time with those who were rejected. He showed compassion to those who were suffering. He healed the sick and untouchables. How can we spread kindness through our words and actions to make a difference in this world just as Jesus did?

When we gather at table with our parish family this weekend for Mass, we will hear Jesus denounce the scribes and Pharisees for their pride. He proclaims that whoever exalts himself will be humbled, but whoever humbles himself will be exalted. We will be challenged to understand the virtue of humility. Maybe we’ll attend the same Mass and get to see you there! May the coming week bring God's blessings to you and yours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT IS MISSION MATTERS? Mission Matters is a parent-seminar series that is presented by Administration. Our first Mission Matters topic is Discipline & Discipleship and will be Thursday, November 9th at 8:15 a.m.

HOW DO I CHECK OUT MY OTHER CHILDREN AFTER A SPECIAL EVENT DURING THE SCHOOL DAY? When you are planning on checking out additional children after a special event please follow the Leaving School Early procedures in the Family Handbook to secure Early Release Stickers for your children at attendance@staopcs.org. Making the lastminute decision to check out additional children is discouraged to alleviate classroom disruption.

MY CHILD LOST THEIR LUNCH BAG/ SWEATER/FOLDER/ETC. WHERE IS THE LOST & FOUND? There are Lost & Found tables on each floor of our school. Please make sure your child checks the tables for their items. All items in Lost & Found on November 17th will be donated to charity so be sure to check it soon!

ALL–SCHOOL NEWS BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS Head on out to this fall’s Wild West Book Fair: Saddle up and read! We are rounding up volunteers to help students make their way to the reading frontier, where readers are wanted and adventure awaits!

If you can contribute as little as one hour it would be very much appreciated! Classes visit the book fair throughout the week. Click the Sign–up Genius Link for a list of times available to assist with each class. During your shift, you will help children make their Wish Lists and purchases.

DRAMA SHOWCASE The Theatre classes will be performing the 3rd annual night of acting scenes called “The Living Room Show”. The show gets its name because this is a casual, relaxed environment where the students will perform for their friends and family, much like putting on a show in the living room.

It's time for our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive in conjunction with St. Anthony’s Bread Food Pantry. Teachers will be sending home detailed food lists and how students and families can assist!
