MESSAGE FROM ADMINISTRATION Dear School Families, We would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy time with family and friends next week. We also want to thank everyone who participated in Dolphin Donor Day! With your donations and a generous matching gift, we raised over $66,000 in only 24 hours for our school. Thank you also for supporting our fall Book Fair.

All proceeds from the Book Fair will benefit our library.

Our school prides itself on our care and support for one another. Last week’s presidential election was challenging in many ways for our country. We even felt some of the challenges on campus with differing opinions leading in some cases to inappropriate things being said about others or to one another. As a Catholic school we cannot let the election divide us. We must rise above that by respecting one another, being kind in our words and actions and loving one another just as Jesus loves each one of us. Let’s join together and pray for healing and unity in our nation. Let’s pray for all of our newly elected officials that God will guide them in service to our country. Let us model, as always, respect and the love of Jesus for all.

Our discipleship message for the week is about gratitude. With Thanksgiving next week, it is a great time to remember how important it is to take time to let others know that you appreciate it when they help you or when they do something kind. If we never take the time to acknowledge what God has done in our lives or how others have helped us, we can become bitter and start to complain about everything. We need to develop an attitude of gratitude remembering to say thanks and show appreciation. Part of having an attitude of gratitude is to remember to thank God daily for all the blessings and graces He gives us.

When we return from the Thanksgiving Break, our focus for December is Advent – preparing for the birth of Christ. The weeks ahead will be filled with shopping, wrapping, cooking, entertaining and sharing Christmas cheer. In all the hustle and bustle of the season, let's remember that during the weeks of Advent we are also preparing for the birth of Christ. The spirit of Christmas can be found each day, if we give to each other as God has given Jesus, to us.

INTERNATIONAL DAY INTERNATIONAL DAY—DECEMBER 2ND International Day celebrates different cultures and the celebration of their Catholic Faith. This year we are incorporating our world language program and aspects of STREAM education into this annual event.

DOLPHIN DONOR DAY Thank you again to everyone who participated in #DolphinDonorDay on November 16th! In 24 hours, we raised over $66,000 for the Fund for St. Anthony. We had 100% participation from our school staff and 36% participation from our school families.

8TH GRADE CLASS GIFT EIGHTH GRADE PRESENTS Its First Ever SCHOOL–WIDE/PARISH–WIDE SPAGHETTI DINNER Benefiting THE LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! 2.4.17 This year’s 8th graders are introducing, as its 2016–2017 Class Gift, The Legacy Scholarship Fund which encompasses a full tuition scholarship presented to a student in financial need for the 2017–2018 school year. In essence, our 8th graders will be “paying it forward” by raising funds for tuition and fees to be used next school year. To accomplish this goal, they will be hosting a School–Wide/Parish–Wide Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, February 4th from 4 to 8 p.m. in Bishop Sheltz Hall. Tickets will be $10 per plate and will be sold at the door! A Legacy Scholarship Fund Spaghetti Dinner Poster Contest, open to all students, will be kicked–off to promote the event in January.

Mark your calendars and plan on joining us for this festive evening as we raise funds for a very worthy cause . . . all happening during Catholic Schools Week.
