RESPECT LIFE INTENTI ONS Sept. 28, 2025

That we may answer the call of the Lazarus of the 21st Century, as he comes to us in the poor, the sick, and the unborn, we pray to the Lord…

To get started, scan the QR code or call the parish office at(262) 691 -1173.

Family Program 2025 -2026

You may notice the lower parking lot will be a little busier than usual on the first Sunday and Monday in October when Family Program starts up.

As we begin the 31st year of Family Program we have 20 new families joining us this year. There are 117 families (454 people) registered for Sunday and 55 families (204 people) registered for Monday. Our three halls will be filled as family “homerooms.” Every space in the building will be used for age level instruction.

We have given a special invitation for school families to join Family Program this year as it came to our attention, some school families didn’t know they were eligible to participate in Family Program.

School parents weren’t aware that Family Program is not redundant, but enhancing, to the Catholic education they have chosen for their families. We are very excited for school families who will join us as they will receive and contribute much to the Family Program community.

Our parish is part of a national movement ushering faith formation out of the CCD “drop -off era” of religious education, which we have learned is not an effective way faith is transmitted to our children. The Family Catechesis approach is offering much more promising results.

The Family Model is based on this guiding insight: We believe the family is the first community and the most basic way in which God gathers us, forms us, and acts in the world.

I was recently asked to speak at a conference on, “Ten Things I Have Learned in Thirty Years of Family Catechesis.” Well, I don’t have space to share ten but here is maybe the most important one:

Parents Matter!

Dr. Christian Smith, from the University of Notre Dame said, most teenagers and their parents may not realize it, but a lot of research in the sociology of religion suggests the most important social influence in shaping young people’s religious lives is the religious life modeled and taught to them by their parents. He summarized, “When it comes to kid’s faith, parents get what they are.”

The Catholic Church’s guiding document for religious education is the Directory for Catechesis. It states:

“The family is a proclamation of faith in that it is the natural place in which faith can be lived in a simple and spontaneous manner… It is, indeed, a Christian education more witnessed to than taught, more occasional than systematic, more ongoing and daily than structured into periods.”

The Family Model puts parents at the center of faith formation. It nurtures, guides and empowers them to be the critically significant faith leaders in their children’s lives. We believe this is the best and most important way that the Church can serve families.

Please keep our families, faith formation staff and volunteers in your prayer. We are excited, delighted and hopeful to Open the Door to the 2025 -2026 Family Program community!

THINGS I WISH I HAD SAID by Al McCauley

“The world is thy ship, and not thy home.” - ST. THERESE OF LISIEUX

NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOL: 5K … Opening the Door!

In the 5K classroom, we have been talking about how God created all things good plants, animals, and us! God created us good and made us special. He loves us very much! We discussed how God wants us to care for one another because He made us special. We discussed how when we follow Jesus and God’s way, we care for others and can fill someone’s bucket. Filling someone’s bucket means we can do a kind action that makes them feel good and it makes us feel good too! We talked about how filling someone’s bucket ties to our Mission Statement of “Living the Gospel Values.” One way to fill a bucket is by working together in a group. In addition, we discussed different types of prayers. We are really working on saying the Sign of the Cross with the correct hand movements. Throughout the year, we will also be working on the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be in preparation for praying the rosary. It is so sweet hearing the kids pray these prayers!
