COMMUNICATIONS & STE WARDSHIP
It is with gratitude that I introduce myself as St. Anthony’s new Director of Stewardship and Communications. I am excited and humbled to serve our parish in this role, and I look forward to growing together in faith, generosity, and community with all of you.
The Gospel passage today, the Parable of the Dishonest Steward, offered me a great deal to reflect upon as I begin this new role. This parable challenges us to reflect on how we manage the gifts God has entrusted to us. Jesus reminds us that “whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in great ones” (Luke 16:10).
To me, stewardship is exactly that: faithful management of all we have our time, our talents, our treasure, and our prayers not as owners, but as stewards. Everything we have is a gift from God, and we are called to use those gifts wisely, generously, and in service to others, always to build the Kingdom of God. Our community is extremely blessed, and I am always inspired by the spirit of generosity I see here.
St. Anthony has been my home for many years. I grew up in this parish, and it has played a central role in shaping my faith and understanding of stewardship. Over the past few years, I’ve served as part of the formation team, walking alongside many of our young people as they deepened their relationship with Christ and our community. Through it all, I’ve seen firsthand how generous, welcoming, and faith -filled this parish truly is.
I’m looking forward to helping people connect with the many ministries and programs we offer here, so that everyone feels at home, everyone feels like they belong, and everyone can contribute in a meaningful way. My hope is that, building upon the great work that the Stewardship Committee has started, we can continue to make stewardship a way of life at our parish. Stewardship is a path that draws us closer to Christ, deepens our sense of gratitude,
and strengthens our connection to one another as members of the Body of Christ.
In the coming weeks, I invite you to stay tuned for our Annual Stewardship Renewal , a time to reflect, pray, and recommit ourselves to using our gifts for the greater glory of God. Together, let us respond to the call of faithful stewardship, confident that when we place all we have in God’s hands, God multiplies it.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP

This weekend we put our ordinary Sunday readings aside and celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Celebrated every year on September 14, this year it falls on a Sunday and therefore takes precedence over Ordinary Time.
It recalls and honors the Cross of Christ not as a sign of suffering alone but as the instrument of salvation and victory over sin and death.
Here’s some background information on the Feast Day:
• Tradition holds that St. Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, discovered the true Cross of Jesus in Jerusalem around 326 A.D.
• On September 13, 335, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem was dedicated. The next day, September 14, the Cross was shown publicly for the faithful to venerate.
• In 629, Emperor Heraclius restored the Cross to Jerusalem after the Persians had taken it.
This feast day reminds us that the Cross is not seen merely as a symbol of suffering, but as a sign of Christ’s victory, love, and redemption. It is a reminder of Jesus’ words:
“When I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to myself.” (John 12:32).

We are especially looking for drummers, bass players, flutists and clarinet players. Questions? Call Vincent LaTona at (262) 691 -1173 x1109. No liturgical experience necessary!
Our hearts are with the families and staff at Annunciation Catholic Parish & School, Minneapolis.

For many of us, our knowledge of the contributions of African Americans in America is limited. Traditionally, the contributions and stories of people of color in America have been omitted or ignored. During this lecture we will examine the many contributions of African Americans and fully understand that Black History is indeed U.S. History. On this 60 -90 minute journey, you will meet people and hear stories that will amaze and inspire you.

Gifted With Too Much

God set up an interesting mechanism in the Old Testament to help the poor. It is a practice described in the Bible that became a legally enforced entitlement of the poor. Leviticus 19 says , “When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest. And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the LORD your God.”
Today’s gleaners collect excess fresh foods from a variety of sources in order to provide it to those in need. Bring your surplus garden produce to the St. Anthony Garden on Tuesdays or Fridays and place in the crate by the gate. We will deliver to the Pewaukee Food Pantry. THANK YOU FOR BEING A GLEANER!

To live without faith is not living, but existing.”
NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOL
4 th Grade is Opening the Door!

Tina L’Empereur 4th Grade Teacher
The fourth-grade class is truly embracing the theme of "Open the Door." We have engaged in meaningful discussions about Saints, focusing on Carlo Acutis' inspiring journey and how the Eucharist is at the center of God’s love for us.
We recently explored the canonization process, particularly that of Carlo Acutis, which took place on September 7. His passion for Eucharistic miracles, his use of technology to evangelize, and his love for video games have sparked lively conversations among the students.
In religion class, we are focusing on the Mass as a special celebration where the Catholic community worships God, with an emphasis on the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Our focus in math is on place value. The students are comparing numbers and using place value to round them effectively. In social studies, we're exploring the difference between latitude and longitude, as well as the various time zones across the United States.
Additionally, the students prepared the Gold in September Mass for the school community, which aims to raise awareness of childhood cancer. The students tied blankets with their 4K buddies, which were blessed at the Mass, and will be donated to the Children’s Hospital. We are excited for the year ahead!
