School Continues Our Mission of Service to Others

This past Friday marked the end of Trimester 1 at St. Anthony on the Lake School. In keeping with our mission to “Serve Others,” during the first sixty days of school, our students participated in a wide variety of service activities designed to assist those in need.

In September, our students cut and tied blankets and raised over $1,000 for Children’s Hospital to support families impacted by childhood cancer.

Mid-October had us gathering as a school community for the Catholic Schools Walk where pledges and donations raised helped provide funds for those families in need of tuition assistance.

Also in October, our students participated in “Socktober 2025” where we collected and donated over 1,000 pairs of socks to homeless shelters to aid some of the 600,000 people who live on the streets in the United States.

This month, students and staff are collecting items for the Pewaukee Food Pantry as well as the House of Peace to ensure that families in need are able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Our Mission as a school calls us to serve others by “Seeking the Lost” and “Living the Gospel Values.” Acts of charity such as the ones listed above allow our students to live our mission and to participate in acts of stewardship.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Principal Parish Offices Will Be Closed on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28.

PRAYER AND WORSHIP

Communion to the Homebound

Do you know someone who will miss weekend Mass due to illness? Would you like to take Communion to them? Beginning November 30, the First Sunday of Advent, pyx (the small container used to transport the Eucharist) will be available in the Gathering Space for you to do so. The process is simple.

• Before Mass stop by the Eucharistic Ministry station located near the vesting sacristy. Sign out a pyx and receive an instruction card.

• Take the pyx into church with you. At Communion time take the pyx with you. Once you have received communion, hold the open pyx up. The Eucharistic Minister will place a host in it. Then close the container.

• If you choose, you may receive the cup, then return to your seat.

• After Communion, the priest will ask you to stand and receive a blessing. After Mass, the Eucharist should be delivered immediately to the homebound. This is important. There should be no delay in delivering the Eucharist.

• The following week return the pyx to church.

If you would like more information, contact Vince LaTona in the Music and Liturgy Office, latonav@stanthony.cc or (262) 691-1173 ext. 1109 .

FROM OUR SCHOOL: First Grade is Opening the Door!

First grade is off to a great start this year! We have enjoyed many books together so far; our class favorite is The Book with No Pictures by BJ Novak. Throughout our reading, we have learned many different comprehension strategies, as well as nouns, verbs, adjectives, articles, commands, and onomatopoeias. Our math has consisted of learning addition and subtraction strategies. In science, we learned about sound and how it is made with vibrations. We used Mr. Thiel's tuning forks to spray water!

We have enjoyed so many fun fall activities! The Firsties have learned about our class pet, Honey, who is an African Pygmy Hedgehog. Honey helps us

We prepared our first Mass and sang with the School Mass Singers.

The highlight so far has been All Saints Day. The Firsties completed a beautiful project to learn about our Saints. Each Firstie picked a Saint, completed research, then wrote a paragraph about their Saint. On All Saints Day, after Mass, each first grader read their paragraph aloud to the congregation.
