STARTS DEC 4, 2018 After taking London by storm at the Young Vic and in the West End, The Jungle transforms St. Ann’s Warehouse. Meet the hopeful, resilient residents of the Jungle — a sprawling refugee camp in Calais, France. Take a seat inside the bustling Afghan Café to experience how, with minimal resources in a cold, inhospitable environment, refugees and volunteers built a warm, self-governing society out of nothing.

The world premiere of The Jungle at the Young Vic in December 2017 was a Young Vic and National Theatre co-production with Good Chance Theatre.

The Jungle was originally commissioned by the National Theatre.

Eric Berryman performs a 1965 LP of work songs, spirituals, and toasts recorded in Texas’ segregated prison farms.

Accompanied by Jasper McGruder and Philip Moore, Berryman channels the inmates’ voices and transmits them live, via an in-ear receiver.

Two young boys and their father, a scruffy romantic, face the unbearable sadness of their mother’s sudden death. In this moment of despair they are visited by Crow— antagonist, trickster, healer, babysitter.

This sentimental bird is drawn to the grieving family and threatens to stay until they no longer need him.
