STANG Magazine STAMPEDE: September 2025

EDITOR’S CHOICE

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED TO DO...

The car is originally from California and was dirt tracked in the ‘70s but I found it in Streetsville, ON. I knew exactly what I wanted to do; restore the car from the frame up, maintain the near perfect OE interior and exterior, then restomod the powertrain. The paint and body were done the first year in Keswick, ON at Billy Harry’s Autobody.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

In 2004, Paxton released a Novi 1200/1500 supercharger kit for the 1969 351W as a tribute to Carroll Shelby’s early 289 cars and as a Shelby fan, I just had to have it.

Over the 25 years I have had and modified the car, there have been a lot of fun events such as Armdrop Drag Racing and Mustang Days at St. Thomas Dragway. At Armdrop (armdropracing.com) I designed a wireless 1/4 mile timing system with Drag Tree and Web Display (see mach1timingsystem. com). Another highlight was Ford of Canada’s Mustang Celebration on April 17, 2014 where I was included in the “50” Mustang picture formation and on TV.

I

HAVE ALWAYS DREAMED OF OWNING A MUSTANG...

My name is Regis and I live in Reims, Champagne, France. This is my 2017 EcoBoost Premium with 317 HP. I bought it during the COVID crisis.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I added a hood scoop and side vents, as well as a California Special rear spoiler. I replaced the stock wheels with 19” Japan Racing Jr28s. The grille was also replaced with a performance pack. All the lighting was switched to LED.

I redid the entire interior myself in beige because I hate black. I added a HUD to the dashboard. All the stickers and decorations were done by myself. I call it my “Baby.”

I’m 61 years old and I have always dreamed of owning a Mustang since I was a kid. It’s not a V8 because I use it every day; it’s my only car... and in France, gas is VERY expensive.

HOWIE TAYLOR BLUCIFER - 2024 MUSTANG GT

CAR NAME–YEAR & MODEL INFO

In the electrifying world of Mustang enthusiasts, every car tells a story, but few narratives are as compelling as the recent journey of one of our own. This tale begins with a heart-stopping moment that would lead to the discovery of a hidden gem - a 2024 Mustang GT Premium Convertible, affectionately named “Blucifer.”

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

It was a day that would change everything for Howie Taylor, a devoted Mustang lover. After hydroplaning and tragically crashing his beloved 2020 Mustang HPP Outlaw known as “Twisted,” the quest for the ultimate ride commenced. Dreaming big and refusing to settle, he assembled a dream build list, the blueprint for what would become the next chapter in his Mustang love affair.

The search for this rare find was no easy feat, stretching across miles and requiring patience and determination. However, when his wife uncovered a “pin in a haystack” 700 miles away in Lexington, North Carolina, destiny seemed to call. A spontaneous road trip with a buddy was all it took to lay eyes on “Blucifer,” a stunning Grabber Blue beast waiting proudly at the dealership, ready for its new chapter.

Interestingly, “Blucifer” bore a unique history - it was registered and owned for a mere three months by a local gentleman who cherished it until his passing. Returned to the dealership by his family, the car seemed fated for our Mustang aficionado. With just 47 miles on the odometer, it was a preowned prize that felt as though it had been waiting especially for him.

The drive home was nothing short of magical, a perfect period to break in the new ride, acquainting himself with the unmatched ride quality, roaring sound, and cutting-edge tech that “Blucifer” boasted. But the connection didn’t stop there; our enthusiast quickly set to work personalizing this

blue beauty with a CDC styling bar salvaged from “Twisted,” a Barton shift knob in matching Grabber Blue, custom side badges, interior and underglow lighting, and several more tasteful mods that made “Blucifer” truly one-of-a-kind.

The upgrade to over 100 horsepower more than its predecessor eased the pain of losing “Twisted,” propelling “Blucifer” not just to new speeds but also to new heights in the heart of its owner. Together, they’ve already secured several show trophies, a testament to the car’s impeccable design and story of resilience. Yet, the trophies pale in comparison to the sheer joy of driving “Blucifer.”

As we look forward to Ponies in the Smokies 2026, one thing is crystal clear: “Blucifer” is not just a car; it’s a phoenix risen from the ashes, a testament to the enduring spirit of Mustang enthusiasts everywhere. With great anticipation, we await the continued journey of “Blucifer,” a true embodiment of passion and rebirth in the Mustang community.

THE ROAD AHEAD IS STILL FULL OF NEW CHALLENGES...

As a disabled veteran, I’ve had my fair share of challenges, both physical and mental. But one thing I’ve always held onto is my sense of pride in the country I served and the idea of perseverance in the face of adversity. Five years ago, I started a project that would not only help me rediscover a part of myself, but also honor the sacrifices made by those who have served. It all started with a car, a simple car, and turned into a passion project that became a true tribute to the American spirit.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. that no matter where life takes me, I’ll always have a piece of my journey, my American tribute, by my side.

NEVER GIVE UP !

Now, after five years of hard work, the car stands as a symbol of perseverance and patriotism. It’s not just about the engine swap or the manual transmission; it’s about the journey - the challenges, the setbacks, and the triumphs. Every time I drive it, I’m reminded of the battles I’ve fought and the victories I’ve achieved. It’s a tribute to America, but it’s also a tribute to me - my journey, my struggles, and my ability to overcome.

While this project may be “complete,” the road ahead is still full of new challenges, new opportunities to learn, and new ways to keep pushing forward. But as I look at my car, I know

IT HAS A LITTLE BIT OF ALL THE BEST MODELS OF THAT ERA.

This is a modified 1969 Mustang Coupe that I have had for the last 19 years. It was my first car in high school. I purchased it from my grandfather with detasseling (it’s a Nebraska thing) money that I had saved up for several summers. I spent much of my teenage years repairing and restoring it with my grandfather, father, and uncle. Since then, I’ve lost my grandfather and father, but the memories and work with this Mustang live on. One day, my three year old son will have it.

With plenty of attitude, it has an upgraded 351W engine, Magna-flow exhaust with headers, C4 automatic transmission, and a Limited Slip Differential. Only thing stopping it is the 4 wheel disc brake conversion kit.

Wearing a custom lime green paint and a Mach 1 stripe kit, Boss front/rear spoilers and hood scoop, and American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels for shoes. It has a little bit of all the best models of that era. It was never meant to remain stock, but an expression of my love for Ford Mustangs.

PEDAL COMMANDER - 2019 MUSTANG GT

IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT LOOKS...

I’ve given my car three makeovers so far, and let me tell you, the third one was really tough. By that time, I had already done a lot of changes and upgrades to the car, which made it challenging to think of something that would be better than the second makeover. I realized that this new build would require a lot of effort, time, and money. On top of that, I needed to find sponsors who could help me improve the car even more.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

The second design was a big step forward for me. It really opened up new ideas and possibilities for what I could do on the street. I loved the design that Carolina Tint and Wrap created for my car; it was unique and eye-catching. However, I knew I had to come up with something even better for the third makeover. That’s when PEDAL COMMANDER reached out to me with an amazing offer to wrap my car again. Even though it took some time to figure out the perfect design, I’m really happy with how it turned out. Krooked Wraps did the installation of the wrap, and they did an excellent job.

For this build, I also decided to add a Trufiber hood, which really enhances the look of the car. I replaced the front end with a Triple Seven GT500 style, which makes it look even more aggressive and sporty. Liquivinyl was generous enough to supply all the splitters that I added around the car, and MBRP provided an exhaust system that gives the car a wicked sound. It really turns heads when I drive by!

One of the most exciting parts of this makeover was designing my own wheels. They are from RVRN and are forged, which means they are both lightweight and strong. The car has also been tuned by Toland Motorsports, making it perform even better. I installed NRG racing seats to give it a more race-inspired feel, and I added a Roush coil-over suspension

for better handling and comfort on the road. Additionally, I upgraded the brakes with Power Stop, which helps me stop on a dime.

In the end, we decided to go with the APR for some extra aerodynamic enhancements. This third makeover has truly transformed my car into something special. It is not just about looks; it’s about performance and how it feels to drive. I’m really proud of all the hard work that went into this build, and I can’t wait to see how it performs on the streets!

This is our 2005 Ford Mustang GT and her name is “Seaglass.” Plate says SASY GT. We fell in love with her because of the color and to find out, there were only 373 made in this color in 2005. As you can see, she is very clean and fun to drive. With the Performance Package, she corners amazingly good. The Torque Thrust wheels give it the classic look too.

She has several upgrades like SCT BAMA tune, K&N cold air intake, Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust, Ford Racing strut tower brace, and side window louvers painted to match. We replaced the mirrors with updated mirrors with built in turn signals and paint to look as if it’s got a skull cap. Interior upgrades are white faced gauges and touch screen stereo and rear view mirror with wireless back up cam. She is a pleasure to drive and fun to drive her hard!

THE SPRINT - 1972 MUSTANG SPRINT CONVERTIBLE

IT IS A

PRETTY RARE SIGHT TO SEE ON THE ROAD...

I became aware of the 1972 Sprint convertibles in the early 1980s and actually ended up owning three of them over the last forty years. I had sold the previous two but in 2024, I had a chance to buy my third one.

Although it was quite a bit more expensive than the first two I owned, it was in very good condition and I had already collected a lot of memorabilia from researching the history of the cars.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. with the same decor but with the fifty convertibles only being sold in the Washington DC sales district, it is a pretty rare sight to see on the road and especially in Western states.

I learned that only fifty convertibles were made with the Sprint decor option and they were provided by Ford and driven in the Washington DC Cherry Blossom parade with a festival princess riding in each car. With a previous owner repainting the car in the original Red, White, and Blue decor in 2017, this 413,000 mile 302 V8 powered Mustang has usually only seen fair weather driving. I have already driven in two parades and plan to use it for mostly nice weather driving to car shows, to cruises, and in parades.

Many people that see this rare edition Mustang convertible might remember the Pinto, Maverick and Mustang Sprints

OUR STUDIO HAS A UNIQUE STORY, APPROACH, AND CONNECTION...

My name is David Kedrow, and I am the founder and lead designer at X-Static Detroit Concepts, a Detroit-based automotive design and art studio. Our work bridges the gap between fine art and custom vehicle design, with projects ranging from concept renderings and commissioned artwork to collaborations with race teams and performance builders. X-Static originally began in Dallas as a design arm for racing teams and custom Viper builders, before relocating back to Detroit in 2017.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. Since then, our studio has produced award-winning work - including the “Smooth Roush” S197 Mustang concept rendering, which earned Outstanding Modern Muscle at the 46th Annual Motorama in Harrisburg, PA (2024). Each piece of artwork is drawn entirely freehand using Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers, employing a proprietary layering technique to create life-like metallic finishes and reflections. Our studio has a unique story, approach, and connection to both motorsports and the Detroit design legacy.
