Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

SHE IS A BEAST AND SHE IS CALLED BIG RED!

This goes back to my youth, I grew up in my teens, 20s, and 30s, restoring and owning Mustangs. I had three Mach 1s the last one was in the 80s. I played football with the Georgia Bulldogs and painted my Mach 1 bullbog colors. It was the Big Dog Mach!

When I turned 60, two years ago I told my wife I’m going through a midlife crisis and I told her we make decisions together so she should have the last word.... either let me have an affair with a woman half her age or let me have a Mustang again! Without blinking she jokingly said “It’s whatever you can afford... the Mustang or half of everything in the divorce!” I got the Mustang.

I found her at Niagra Falls, NY and had her shipped to me in Sacramento, CA where over the last two years, I have dumped another $30K into her with engine upgrades, 5 speed transmission, custom work on the stock wheels to make her unique, lots of cosmetic upgrades

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquiring this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

so she looks more modern, and the back seat is now a rolling concert hall with two, 15” woofers, 6×9s, and front side walls with 6’ midrange thanks to Rolling Audio of Roseville, CA.

She is a beast and she is called Big Red! Specail shout out to the Sacramento Area Mustang Club!

WE HAVE DONE A LITTLE SPRUCING UP...

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

We have had a very busy Stang time over the last year with 2015 Mustang GT Premium BJEALUS! We have enjoyed the celebration of 60 years of the Mustang by traveling to many shows all over from Michigan, including going over to the Port Huron 60 year show with both Stangs covering both years 76 and 15, then down south to Ohio to the Gale Halderman Museum, and on to the show at Krueger Ford, then over to North Carolina for the 60 year celebration at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a quick stop at the Mustang owners Museum. Take a breath! Back to Michigan to do the Troy Traffic Jam and on to many cruises and small shows, then back to Ohio to the Montrose show, then a fall color tour in Michigan.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. Starting out 2025 on National Mustang Day, we went to the SCCA cruise then to the MOCSEM cruise-in show, May 3rd to the Ford Heritage collection cars and coffee at the Ford world HQ, then on the 15th to the Dust Off at the GR Galleria, 18th to the Oshtemo cruise-in and car show. Then to the SCCA car show and go to Ford world HQ and then the next weekend to the Frosty Boy cruise-in. Tapper Ford had their annual Show on June 7th and then to the WMMC show in GR on the 14th.

Duncan Aviation was next in Battle Creek. We have done a little sprucing up with a new spoiler on the back (thank you Kevin) as well as a new panel on the back of the trunk lid and a freshening up of the chipped hood. We are looking forward to the Fastlane Motorsports Show on 8/3, the Shipshewana show on the 9th, and

the Dreamcruise Week in Detroit wrapping up with the 50th anniversary of the Mustang Memories show at the Ford World HQ 8/17.

CAN’T IMAGINE DRIVING ANYTHING BUT A MUSTANG FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

The Mustang has been a part of our family since my Mama bought her first one in 1966. At the age of 70, she bought the last one, a red 2007 convertible Mustang that she would not drive unless it was spotless. Mama loved her Mustangs and drove them with the pride that only Mustang owners know.

My love for Mustangs has grown over the years. I have owned ten Mustangs since 1986. Grabber Blue is my favorite Ford color and for eleven years, I have enjoyed driving my 2013, Blue Beauty, over 237,000 miles before having to replace her. My daily driver is a Deep Impact Blue, 2014 Premium V-6. My beautiful Texas Blue Bonnet, Bonnie, is my pride and joy. Bonnie’s mods include the C&L muffler delete with black tips, Black SpeedForm quarter window louvers and 19” Gloss Black wheels and tires.

I can’t imagine driving anything but a Mustang for the rest of my life!

DESTINY - 2014 MUSTANG GT THIS IS MY TURNING POINT, IT IS MY DESTINY.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

My first Mustang love was a 1968 Shelby GT500 KR when I was about seven years old. Then when I was in high school I saw the revised 2013 Mustangs and I knew I had to have one. The sleek look, the subtle throwbacks, and I fell in love.

Fast forward a few years and I managed to get my hands on my 2014 that I named Destiny. At the time of purchase I was going through some hard times in life with family, personal issues, as well as uncertainty about my future. So the day I bought my Stang, was the day I knew “this is my turning point, it is my destiny“ and that’s when my Stang journey began, and where the name originated from.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. My father has watched me turn this car from its bone stock form to the beast it is today. He has always been my hero and someone I look up to with his hard work and dedication. He is the reason I am into cars, the reason I love American muscle, and more importantly, the reason I was able to pull through and dig deep into this build no matter what challenges were thrown at me.

FREEDOM STANG DRAWS ATTENTION.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

In June of 2024, I purchased this Mustang nearly stock, knowing from the start that it needed some serious work. What began as a simple project quickly turned into a full-blown transformation. My vision was clear: build a car that not only turns heads, but pays tribute to the brave men and women of our armed forces and first responder community.

As a former volunteer firefighter, honoring those who serve has always been close to my heart. This car reflects that respect and appreciation. While it’s still a work in progress, with a full patriotic wrap on the horizon, the Freedom Stang has already come a long way. From upgraded wheels and a custom audio system to Air Ride suspension and a complete front-end makeover, every detail has been chosen with purpose.

Under the hood, this 2.3L EcoBoost may be a four-cylinder, but don’t be fooled, it is estimated to be pushing over 500 horsepower thanks to a year’s worth of tuning and performance upgrades.

Whether I’m cruising the streets or pulling into a car show, Freedom Stang always draws attention. More than just a build, this car is my tribute to those who protect and serve, and to my lifelong love of the Ford brand.

THE CAR PROVIDES ME WITH MORE “MILES OF SMILES”...

This is my “Limer,” a 2006 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe 5-speed convertible, which was the last year for the ‘Legend Lime’ retro color. After unexpectedly selling my beloved H-D Road King, I suddenly found myself with disposable cash and took my wife’s advice to finally “buy that Mustang I’ve been talking about for years.” So, with her help, we scoured the internet hoping to find a low mileage 5-speed GT convertible Limer. I was willing to fly anywhere for the right car, and drive it home, but pickings were slim. However, the money was burning a hole in my pocket, so I almost caved and bought a Red one in nearby New Jersey. But the owner was away in college and unable to show me the car. This turned out to be a blessing, because out of nowhere, my wife located my dream car for sale on Craig’s List, less than an hour away here in Pennsylvania! I contacted the seller, made arrangements to go see it, and after a little haggling, bought it that day. It only had 55K miles and met all my requirements, and then some. Almost every upgrade I would’ve eventually completed myself, was already installed, while still leaving room for some minor upgrades/changes here and there.

20” Shelby CS70 wheels, installed by a previous owner. They get a lot of attention and I’m always asked about them! The Saleen-style decals on the bumpers identify the Limer as #1111 on the Legend Lime Registry. The Mustang you see here today is a fair-weather car, has only accrued 5K miles in the 3 years I’ve owned it, and is close to being “done.” It is shown at local events whenever possible and people either love the color or hate it. Many tell me they don’t like “Green” cars but that this combo “works.” From my perspective, the car provides me more “miles of smiles” than my Harley ever did, and in a lot more comfort! I will never sell it, and tell people I will probably be buried in this car. Hope you enjoy.

As a life-long Mustang fanatic who loved the Shelbys and California Specials as a kid, the addition of side scoops and roll (style) bar were must-haves to compliment the overall look of the car. It has Parchment leather interior and a Camel convertible top, which apparently is rare on a 5-speed car. Also, the racing stripes are a beige color, painted (not tape) to match by a previous owner. As a result, that makes this car even more unique and one a kind. Something else that sets it apart are the

IT IS A REFLECTION OF MY STYLE AND DEDICATION.

My passion for Mustangs started when I was a kid, hearing the 2Vs and 3Vs. As I got older and got one of my own, it turned into more than just liking a car, it became a lifestyle. The Mustang represents freedom, power, and individuality, and every time I drive mine, I’m reminded of why I fell in love with these cars in the first place.

Exhaust is Ultimate headers and a 3” X pipe with Flowmaster catback.

THE STALLION –1976 MUSTANG II THE STICKER WAS JUST OVER 5K...

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

This Mustang II has had a very busy year! The 60 years of Mustang was celebrated last year as was the 50 years of the Mustang II. We had plans to do a lot of shows and started off by loading it up and taking it to the Ponies in the Smokies down in Sevierville, Tennessee. We were asked and accepted the 1976 slot in the inside show they have. We were given a trophy for best in class WOW! They give out a Moonshine Jug (empty). We also decided to take The Stallion on The Tail of the Dragon, 318 turns in 11 miles... what a blast! I purchased this 1976 Mustang II Stallion brand new when I was 18 years old. The sticker was just over 5K back on December 3rd 1976. It now has 140k miles that I have enjoyed. The next show we went to was down the road south to the MCA show in Birmingham, AL. We also visited the Mustang Museum of America, and the Talladega Superspeedway track tour and museum. We were really lucky to meet up with our cool Mustang friends visiting from Belgium, Chantal De Schepper, Bram Besjes, and Woody! Then we went back to home base and switched Stangs to the 15 GT for a few shows. Then back home to get The Stallion for the trip to the Ford Nationals at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Next we applied for and were accepted into the Motor Muster Show at Greenfield Village. They had a special spot for us to celebrate the Bi-Centenial 1976 model cars. That show was special being in Ford Museum space. The next show was at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend, IN. They were holding a Concours D’ Elegance at Copshaholm and wanted to honor the 60 years of the Mustang. We also celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary with friends and at a car show. We were honored to receive the Best In Class.

If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. The year was capped off by attending the Fall Ford Fest Cancer show which is held in the Wisconsin Dells, one of our favorite shows that has several cruises, a road course to enjoy if interested, a car show, and a special dinner where the Cancer show car of the summer which is raffled off and the winner is picked at the dinner. 2025 we went back to Ponies in the Smokies in March, then to Tapper Ford Paw Paw MI, then to the Mustang II Reunion #10 in 2 Rivers Wisconsin. The first time to have a reunion at an all models festival show 30 IIs attended a very successful show! We also received a trophy for the 1976 class.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

I met Daniel Ramey at a Beltway Mustang show and won my spot with STANG Magazine in their Carlisle Ford Nationals display. Needless to say I wasn’t sure what to expect being that I didn’t know the people attending and was going by myself.

The STANG Mag family welcomed me in from the very start and made me feel like one of their own!

I ALWAYS WANTED A S550 MUSTANG.

I got into cars when I was in high school and have been addicted ever since! The first Mustang I bought was when I was 18 and still own is a 66 coupe. Barely had a clue as to how to fix it up but I figured it out as I went. Then about four years passed and I had the urge to buy another and marketplace didn’t disappoint. My wife and I brought home a second Mustang, a 1965 coupe for her.

Well another year or two passed and I always wanted a S550 Mustang. So after Mustang Week in 2024, | was searching marketplace and came across a Mustang I had to have. It was a 2017 Mustang GT. I have an Instagram page dedicated to Mustangs so check it out if you’d like! @_mustang_lifestyle
