We worship God from the future, at which time Revelation reveals that the slaughtered lamb will be worshipped by every tribe, language, people and nation. The cross is the central point of the entire universe and through it, we are made to be a kingdom and priests serving our God.

It’s not a stretch to think enslaved people would want a chariot to “swing low” to the south and take them to the home of freedom, the north. The song was written by a slave near the Texas/ Oklahoma border, was banned by Nazi Germany as “undesired and harmful,” and helped narrate the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. 4
