Stalham High School Newsletter

Spring End of Term Edition 2016

A Note from the Headteacher Welcome to the final newsletter of the Spring Term. This is often one of the shortest half terms, but as this newsletter demonstrates, no less full. This term, we said goodbye to Mrs Mayhew , Mrs Bacon and Mr Everard who are all going on to exciting new opportunities. We thank them for all their hard work for the school and wish them well for the future. Miss Knight (teacher of Maths) will be leaving teaching at the end of the summer term to pursue her career in the music profession. We will be very sorry to see her go. It was lovely to play host to Stalham Players earlier this term; their version of Puss in Boots was fabulous! There was such a strong sense of the community in the school hall, talking to students and colleagues old and new. In the last newsletter, I asked for your feedback on reports that you receive for your son/daughter. If you did not do so and would like to, it is not too late. Email me directly at awebb3nrf@nsix.org.uk. I hope you enjoy this newsletter and I wish you all an enjoyable end of term. Ms. Amy Webb Headteacher

The Duchess of Cambridge gets a Royal welcome in Holt One of Stalham High School’s students, Chloe in Year 10 was invited to meet the Duchess of Cambridge this month. As The Duchess, who is the Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), performed the opening ceremony at the new shop on Station Road, Holt, by cutting a ribbon with the help of two families who receive care and support from EACH. Before the ribbon cutting, The Duchess received a tour of the shop, meeting a number of staff, families and supporters, including seven EACH shop volunteers with a combined service of more than 130 years. Taken from the EDP 19 March 2016.
