Sports Wrap-Up
The St. Martin’s athletics program continued to grow and develop during the 2018-2019 winter and spring seasons. The YPL and swim teams benefited from increased turn-outs, and three spring teams brought home trophies.

“Our winter and spring athletes demonstrated great sportsmanship and work ethic this year,” said Athletic Director Mark McDaniel. “I am proud of the effort they put in and look forward to many of them returning next year.”
WINTER The A-girls basketball team had a great mix of underclassmen talent, 8th-grade leadership and team camaraderie that made for a fun season to watch. The B-girls team demonstrated a strong work ethic and positive attitude and played competitively every game. With the help of strong 7th-grade leadership, the C-girls basketball team finished its season with renewed focus and energy. The A-boys basketball team visibly improved over the course of the season and lost to the eventual champions in round two of the playoffs. The B-boys team demonstrated

The SMES swim team placed in several individual events and also competed in team relays.
SPRING The golf team played strong all season and finished second in the MAAC team championship tournament after losing the tiebreaker for first place. Each player honed his skills and knowledge of the game throughout the season.
