BACK TO SCHOOL EXTRAVAGANZA Each year we partner with Washington Township schools as they kick off a new academic year. We work closely with their teachers and administrators to find the BEST way we can support the school district, while at the same time upholding our shared commitment to justice, anti-racism, and inclusivity. This year, we have a goal to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of school supplies for 4,200 students for the entire academic year, adopt 20 classrooms in Washington Township, and adopt a school in Kenya. FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION MEET-UP SATURDAY, JUNE 25 • 9AM Come to connect with other foster and adoptive families and caregivers. This gathering is designed for foster and adoptive parents, kinship providers...really all those who care for orphaned and vulnerable children. It is a time to fellowship, to share experiences, and to learn from one another. This is not a foster/adoptive recruiting event, rather, it is all about supporting people on their post-placement journey. Discussions have included or may include transracial adoption, attachment issues, navigating relationships with birth parents and families, the effect of trauma, among others. MIDDLE SCHOOL MAYHEM JUNE 27-JULY 1 Students who will be in 5th-8th grade for the 2022-23 school year are invited to Mt. Mayhem where we will explore Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and the “Be-Attitudes” Jesus taught us. This week-long day camp gives middle schoolers a chance to form new friendships as they have discussions and competitions with their “crew” of other students and a few leaders, serve alongside their peers, learn more about faith in

worship designed specifically for them, and play all kinds of insane games. Middle School Mayhem is always one of the best youth events of the year, and it can’t happen without volunteers! SPECIAL NEEDS EVENT SUNDAY, JULY 10 • 5-7PM • ROY G. HOLLAND PARK IN FISHERS Those involved in the Special Needs Ministry, along with their families and friends, are invited for a fun afternoon together at Roy G. Holland Park in Fishers! We have reserved the shelter by the playground for a place out of the sun to grill out for dinner.

At 5PM, we will begin grilling hamburgers and hot dogs (vegetarian options will be available. Please bring drinks for your family and a side or dessert to share. You can also bring swim gear if your family wants to use the splash pad. For more info and registration, visit stlukesumc.com/events.
