NEW HERE? STARTING POINT TODAY, APRIL 11 • 10:45-11:15AM OR 12:15-12:45PM • COMMUNITY ROOM Starting Point is a casual conversation for those new to St. Luke’s. Gain an orientation to St. Luke’s and leave with recommended next steps to help you find your place within the church. It’s also a great way to meet others who are new and find community! This is a 30-minute class held in the Community Room, across from the church office, at 10:45-11:15AM OR 12:15-12:45PM. No registration is needed. Just show up! We can’t wait to meet you!

POCKET RETREAT St. Luke’s United Methodist Creation Care Ministry would like for you to take time to be with God. As we experience God’s wonders in nature, we should stop, reflect, and appreciate creation. Visit our website at stlukesumc. com/wilderness to find the Pocket Retreat activities and

scriptures. Along your journey, stop about every 5 minutes and read, reflect, and do the activity. There are 20 activities so this should take less than 2 hours to complete. If you need to have a shorter time in nature, that is fine, do as many cards as you can, and then the next time you are able to get back to nature begin where you left off.

PUSH BACK POVERTY THURSDAY, APRIL 15 • 1-2:30PM • ONLINE Individuals and groups interested in working to “Push Back Poverty” in Central Indiana are invited to gather online from 1 to 2:30PM on April 15 for the Faith & Action Project’s fifth annual spring conference. The event will bring together representatives from Indy’s faith, nonprofit, and government sectors to hear from national povertymitigation leader Nisha Patel and from local individuals who are walking the pathway out of poverty. Be inspired, informed, and engaged by Patel’s “data-driven and heartled” vision and by neighbors’ authentic stories. Then join

PRAYER VIGIL THURSDAY, APRIL 15 • 7PM • PARKINGL LOT We are partnering with Go Vote Indy and community activists to stand against racism. Join us for a candle lit vigil for the victims of racially targeted violence towards our AAPI community, while also inviting members of all BIPOC to speak on the pervasiveness of racism in our community.

The event is outdoors in the parking lot. Masks and distancing required.

LIVING STORIES: AN EVENING WITH ELAINE PAGELS FRIDAY, APRIL 16 • 6:30-8:30PM • ZOOM Nothing about religion, its meaning, or purpose, is static.

With every generation, the stories, traditions, and practices held dear by many, change in some way. New discoveries, questions, and perspectives open a world of possibility on how we understand the nature of religion. Join Spirit & Place; Community for Contemplation and Justice of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church; IUPUI Senior Academy; and Religious Studies Department, IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI for an evening of conversation and reflection on the role stories of faith have in life. THE WELL Thursdays • 9PM • Facebook Women do so much: leading, working, serving, cooking, cleaning, parenting, adulting, managing, planning, praying, teaching, building - just to name a few! And doing so much often leaves us empty, exhausted, and alone. We need a place where we can connect with other women and reconnect with God. We need THE WELL, a weekly virtual gathering place for women of all ages to laugh, learn, and grow together. And the best part? You can join us in your jammies! Hosted by Pastor Nicole Caldwell-Gross, this invitation-only virtual group launches live on Facebook every Thursday at 9PM. So ladies, as you’re pouring

Dinner is provided Monday and Tuesday from 5:45-6:30PM and food trucks will be onsite (available for purchase) on Wednesday from 5:15-6:30PM. Check-in starts at 6:15PM. The festivities begin every evening during VBS at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. If you are not able to join us in person, you can sign up for our VBS Digital Pass! MIDDLE SCHOOL MAYHEM MONDAY-FRIDAY • JUNE 21-25 Students entering 5th-8th graders this fall are invited to our FAVORITE event of the year: Middle School Mayhem! The theme is “Olympics: Mayhem.” This fun and exciting Day Camp consists of worship, group competitions, snacks, service projects, and time for a message and reflection in “crews” of 10 students and leaders. There are morning and full-day options for $30 or $100 for the entire week. It’s $30 for morning or $100 for full day. Scholarships are available.

SERVE OTHERS CARING CARS VOLUNTEERS Everyone who needs to go to a doctor’s appointment or wants to go the church should be able to have the opportunity to do so. Caring Cars is a group of volunteers who takes individuals to doctors’ appointments, vaccine appointments, and church. You drive when you want to, for whatever reason you want to focus on!
