Afterschool Enrichment Classes LOWER SCHOOL: PreK-3

Spring 2019

M O N D AY SPORTS GALORE: grades 1-3 Matt Baluch Welcome to Sports Galore! A great introduction to a variety of different sports such as hockey, soccer, kickball, and dodgeball. The sport of the week changes every week, and we will not repeat a sport two weeks in a row. Skills of each sport will be learned in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere followed by playing the game of the week! Classes will be held on April 1, April 8 and April 29. RUNNING CLUB: grades 1-3 Matt Baluch Does your child love to run and want to get out and be active in the warmer weather? Join the Afterschool Running Club! Students will stretch, warm up and increase distance and speed through running drills around the campus. The last class will be a run through the woods to the Upper School and back! Mondays from May 6 through June 3. UKULELE: grades 2-3 Jamie Balmer The ukulele has exploded in popularity in recent years, and for good reason: it’s a charming instrument that’s easy to learn, easy to transport, and very affordable. In this course we’ll learn the basics of ukulele playing. We’ll learn chords, strumming rhythms, and simple melodies, and we’ll cover the basics of reading music using the musical staff, ukulele tablature, and chord diagrams. This class is open to complete beginners and requires no previous musical experience. Students must have a ukulele to bring to class (and practice with at home).
