ALUMNI ANNUAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

The 2024 Alumni Basketball Tournament was a hit! The St. Edmond class of 2022 were crowned champions. They beat the class of 2008, 2004, and took down the reigning champs, the class of 2012, in the championship game There were 8 total teams and over 60 participants. The St. Edmond athletic booster club ran a concession stand during the tournament. Jenny Becker (class of 2011) also brought the Fort Dodge Play and Learn Center to the school cafeteria that day for families to play together in between the basketball games Thank you to everyone who made the day possible, especially Neil Flattery (class of 2012), who organized the entire tournament.

ALUMNI ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

It was a beautiful day with 36 teams playing in this year’s tournament. Thank you to the Country Club for all their hard work to get the course ready and for their help with the event during the day Thank you to Gaa Gaa & Hoo for donating food to the event and for Olde Boston’s for providing lunch. This year the Fort Dodge Ford team of Casey Johnson, Matt Johnson, Terry Miller and Steve Powell won the event with a score of 55 Eddie Doyle, Larry Castagnoli, Tom Schill and Blaine Buhr shot a 57 for 2nd place and Tom Underberg, Brad Baade, Mark McBride and Matt Dutcher shot a 58 for 3rd place. Thank you to all who spent the day on the course with us.

Annandher2siblingsattendedCorpusChristischoolwhereherbrother Johngraduated.HerbrotherEddiemovedtoSt.Edmondwhenitfirst openedandgraduatedin1956 AnngraduatedfromFortDodgeHighSchool andthencontinuedhereducationatUniversityofIowagraduatingin1958 withadegreeinEnglisheducationandminorsinhistoryanddrama.After manyyearsofteaching,herloveforreadingtookherdownanewpathas aLibrarianfor20yearsinStamford,Connecticut,whereshecurrently volunteers Sheispassionateaboutliteratureandhasaprofoundbelief inCatholicSchoolSystems WeareblessedshechoseSt Edmondasthe recipientofhergenerosity.BecauseofAnn’slovefortheLibrary,shechose todonatenewtablesandchairstomodernizeandenhancethislearning environment.WearegratefultoAnnforthisbeautifulupgradetoour school

TomwenttoIowaandthenservedinKorea HewasabankerforFirst AmericanBankGroup Thetwohadadaughter,Kaleen,whograduated fromSt.Edmondin1978.Katishared,“Tomalwaysbelievedingivingfirst tothechurchandwiththatcomestheschool.”Katihasaloveforlibraries andshechosetoblesstheschoolwithnewcarpetforourLibraryto completetheupgradeofourfacility AlongwiththeLibrarycarpet,Kati andTom’sgiftwillalsohelpfundnew,muchneededwindowsaroundthe school.WearesogratefultoKatiandTomfortheirgenerosityandhelp withtheseamazingupgrades.
