Thereisamissinglink,animportantlevelof servicewehavenotofferedinthepast.Inthe firstphaseoftheGrowingforEveryStageofLife project,theMarianHomeandVillagewillopen itsfirst-everAssistedLivingfacilitywithin walkingdistanceofbothourcurrentcampus andHolyTrinityCatholicChurchattheformer VillaCaresite Wehopetoopen12,sparkling new,affordable,assistedlivingunitsinthis locationasearlyas2025.
TheneedforassistedlivinginWebsterCountyand thesurroundingareaisgreat andgrowingevery year.Iseetheneedforthisprojecteverytimea familycomesintomyoffice,concernedabouttheir motherwhoisn’tdoingaswellinourindependentlivingapartmentsassheoncehad.Myheartaches whenIvisitwithawomaninher80swhohasbeen caringforherhusbandathome,butknowsinher heartthatshejustcan’tdoitsafelyanymore In manycasessuchasthese,apersonmaynotmeet theheavilyregulatedcriteriaforanursinghome bed Theyneedthevital,in-betweencareof assistedliving Withoutthisnewlevelofcare, thefamilymaybeforcedtomovetoanentirely differentfacilityor,worseyet,continuetostruggle inanindependentsettingthatisnolonger providingthesafe,healthy,home-like environmentneeded.
