MARK GILL - CLUB PRESIDENT

This week, we catch up with Club President and all round club man Mark Gill.

The last few weeks have been a busy time for the club, with kit arriving, MiniRoos starting back their 2023 training after a few rain delays, and our Masters and Metro League pillars of the club getting stuck into their 2023 seasons.

As mentioned at the start of the programme, we now shift focus to our 2023 Mini-Roos Carnival. As one of the biggest events in the club calendar, we look forward to the Carnival each and every year.

This year we have attracted over 70 teams from across Brisbane to participate in the 2023 edition. From ages 6 to 12, we cater for Kangaroo and Non Kangaroo teams, and have seen the quality of the Carnival improve year on year.

Our Masters Fellas gear up for the start of their season this weekend, as they look to continue on the successful path we have built as a Masters Club over the last 5 years. Fielding a record number of teams in 2023, we have built a Masters Program that rivals many clubs across Brisbane. It's great to also see a lot of our Masters Players also apart of the club in other areas, many coaching junior teams.

A area of the club that we have invested a lot of time into over the off season is the Divisional (U13-U18) teams. All teams have got their seasons underway, and particularly our Development sides have impressed. With the goal to enter the FQ Academy pathway system in 2024, it's great to see our Development sides improving with each week.
