This year, SpreadPoint was invited into the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena at the National Ploughing Championships, Ireland’s largest outdoor agricultural and machinery show. Our MK-Range of Rear Discharge Spreaders was selected as a finalist and awarded an Innovation Certificate, acknowledging the advanced engineering, durability, and performance built into our machines. We would like to thank all who visited our stand throughout the week, for their time, interest and valuable conversations. Once again, SpreadPoint’s commitment to innovation, quality and delivering solutions has been recognised and showcased on a national stage.

HARDOX® IN MY BODY- MK-Range of Rear Discharge Spreaders
Accreditation Presentation
We are proud to announce that the SpreadPoint MK-Range has been approved in the Hardox® In My Body Program. This accreditation scheme from SSAB Steel is a quality program which recognises manufacturers who use genuine Hardox® wear plate in their products. SpreadPoint’s MK-Range of Rear Discharge Muck Spreaders are the first of its kind worldwide to receive this accreditation. In September, we welcomed Fredrik Larsson, Hardox® Product Manager SSAB, Tim Goodwin, Technical Development Manager for UK and Ireland, & Steven Haugh, Regional Sales Manager, from SSAB who presented us with our official certificate of approval.
We asked Tim Goodwin why SpreadPoint qualified for this accreditation. He says: ‘We look for designs which make the best use of high strength wear resistant steel. The scheme is a shop window for the world, so we look for a brand which will display this well. It’s the first rear discharge spreader with this accreditation. Manufactures with the best designs, which make the best use of steel are considered’.
Richard Kane, SpreadPoint Managing Director, says that the process was not an easy one! ‘It’s not a straightforward process of ticking boxes and involved a lot of back and forth with SSAB. It is worth it as we know we have top quality machines that deserve to be recognised so, giving our customers the added confidence in their investment’.
The benefits of using Swedish Hardox® Steel for the end user are incomparable. Tim says the most important benefits are that the steel provides ‘best wear performance & consistency. The good customer service and support ensures reliability and consistency for the end user. Using Hardox® steel will also add value to its products for the end user’ Richard also agreed, adding that the ‘weight saving benefits help to reduce fuel costs for the customer’ and highlighted the ‘reliability and reduced down-time for maintenance due to the overall quality of steel used. At SpreadPoint we know how important this is, particularly when our customers are often tied by weather conditions for working windows’.
