Muck Spreading Innovation on show in

Northern Ireland

SpreadPoint is proud to announce that our innovative MK1200 Rear Discharge Manure Spreader has been recognised in the Innovation Award at the 2025 RUAS Balmoral Show. This recognition marks a major milestone in our commitment to delivering durable, high-performance spreading solutions that meet the exacting standards of modern agriculture.

Designed from the ground up, the MK range showcases industry-leading features with a focus on precision spreading, operator comfort and long-term reliability. A key evolution of SpreadPoint’s award-winning SP Belt Spreader range, the MK incorporates a range of advanced technologies and durable materials to ensure performance in even the most demanding conditions.

At the heart of the MK’s performance is a full Hardox® body coupled to Reverse-Pitch Hardox® rotors featuring SpreadPoint’s patent pending swinging flails. All these features are built in to withstand heavy-duty work and resist damage from foreign objects.

The MK range features SpreadPoint’s exclusive HydraPoint Tensioning System, which automatically checks and adjusts chain tension with every load - significantly reducing wear and preventing downtime. A single slat floor system designed for consistent discharge, even on steep or uneven terrain. Operator comfort is taken care by a true suspension drawbar system ensuring extended travel and smoother operation offering better traction and enhanced comfort for the operator. A precision high-speed 1000RPM driveline with rubber dampers and shearbolt protection ensure efficient material breakup and distribution.

This practical innovation has already proven itself in the field at Point View Farms, managed by SpreadPoint’s own Managing Director, Richard Kane. Based in County Down, Northern Ireland, Richard oversees approximately 1,000 acres of mostly arable ground and knows first-hand the demands of modern nutrient spreading.

Richard joked, “We cannot really run other brands now we have developed our own SpreadPoint range, but it’s that unique position of running our own machines that gives us real insight.

It allows us to refine the specification and design from the earliest stages of development.”

The MK1200 is part of a broader MK range that includes models with 9T, 12T, and 15T capacities, all engineered to meet the professional contractor’s needs. Each machine comes equipped with 16mm floor chains, a slurry door and a robust shot-blasted and oven-baked 2K paint finish for durability. The use of LED lighting, greasing points, and a range of optional controls makes the MK series one of the most complete and capable ranges on the market today.

Recognition from RUAS confirms what our customers have already discovered - the MK range of spreaders is a gamechanger in modern manure spreading.

SpreadPoint would like to thank the RUAS panel for this recognition and congratulate the entire engineering and development team who brought this machine from concept to field-ready excellence. We look forward to seeing more MK1200s in action across farms in the UK, Ireland, and beyond.

Q2 Highlights - New Norwegian Dealership appointed

Agriculture is on the upward trend again and the outlook for Q2 remained positive across the SpreadPoint range. The quarter saw strong activity from both domestic and international markets, with multiple SX-A Auger Systems leaving the factory and heading to farms where demand for precision and durability continues to grow. Interest in the TF range also remained steady, with various models delivered to new customers further afield, highlighting the reliability and performance of SpreadPoint machinery across different farming systems. The wider SP product range continues to perform well, with consistent sales across several key models, reinforcing customer confidence in our engineering and aftersales support.

In line with our continued international growth, SpreadPoint is also pleased to announce the appointment of a new dealership partner in Norway - Velde Maskin, based in Øvre Vats., the south west of Norway. With a strong reputation in agricultural machinery and a customer-focused approach, Velde Maskin will represent SpreadPoint across the Norwegian market, ensuring local support and product expertise for new and existing customers. This marks another significant step in expanding the SpreadPoint dealer network and delivering our high-spec solutions to farms across Northern Europe. - more to follow.

Seasoned Scottish Spreading

We recently spoke with Andrew Rennie from John Rennie & Sons Gask Farm, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, who purchased one of the first SP-600 loadcell spreaders back in 2020.

The machine supplied by CT Scott Ltd was a SP-600 belt spreader with WeighPoint continuous loadcell weighing. Specified Isobus only to run on the farms existing isobus terminals and equipped with loadsensing hydraulics.

Andrew and Family are a 5th generation family farm, cropping 500ha of arable land in 80ha blocks across four farms in a 6-mile radius.

The busy operation is set in the productive area of Turiff a very favourable area of Scotland for growing crops. Andrew informed us the farm runs a 50/50 winter-spring crop rotation and have a 180ha stubble-to-stubble contract with a neighbour that’s lasted over 50 years. A testament to the attention for detail of the operation.

The business nature of the family has lead them into some diversification in recent years including

• Agricultural contracting (drilling, spraying, digestate, etc.)

• Agrochemical storage/distribution

• Anaerobic digestion (waste to energy)

• Biomass boilers using on-farm timber

• Solar panels and wind turbines at Gask Farm

The SP-600 is used for lime application on the farm using variable rate prescriptions to vary the application depending on what the soil requires across the field. This is all gps controlled and is standard in the weighpoint control system.

Andrew runs a busy enterprise and we were grateful to catch up with him five years on from the farms investment in a SpreadPoint machine -

How long have you had the SP-600 and how much have you used it?

“Five seasons, spreading about 1,000 tonnes of product annually”

What tractors do you use with the spreader?

“A John Deere 6R215—it handles the SP-600 with ease.

How does the build quality compare?

“It’s a good strong robust machine. One of the selling points on the machine was the strong heavy duty drive train to the heavy-duty spreading discs. All our land is GPS mapped, and lime applied using variable rate technology. When travelling down the field going from 0 tons/ha to an instant 10 tons/ha, the SP600 easily handles this. With other machines in the past, we have burnt out belts and had bearing fatigue“

How accurate is the weigh cell system?

Very accurate and easy to set up. It ensures lime goes exactly where needed, giving us confidence in application.

Any maintenance or downtime issues over the time owned?

“Only a hydraulic valve issue in the first season, quickly resolved by CT Scott with minimal downtime. Both SpreadPoint and CT Scott were helpful from the start. “

What would you say to other farmers considering the SP600?

It’s a high-spec, robust machine built to last. The drive train is reliable, and the intuitive control box integrates easily with GPS for variable rate applications.

It was great to hear some comments from Andrew and we appreciate the trust in the SpreadPoint machine to apply pH correction on his loved farm. We wish the Rennies and Gask Farm continued success in Aberdeenshire and look forward to supporting them throught their ownership of the machine.
