The TCS New York City Marathon Opening Ceremony Presented by United Airlines kicks off race weekend with a celebration at the finish line in Central Park. Spectators can watch from the TCS New York City Marathon finish line in the Grandstand seating – seating is first-come, first served – or along the parade route. Further details NYRR Opening Ceremony

If you are not taking part in the official Abbott 5k Dash but would like to warm up for Sunday’s main event, join your Sports Tours representatives for a gentle warm up run (approx. 5k). All our clients are welcome to join this complimentary run whether you are running the marathon or not. No need to book a place, just meet the reps and fellow runners at 07:15 at our hospitality desk

Runners must provide photo ID (passport) and Runner Confirmation Form (printed/electronic) – this will be emailed to you by New York Road Runners

Enter the park at either 5th Avenue at East 72nd Street or Central Park West at West 72nd Street. Only the official pre-check bags can be used (received at the Expo) – no other bags will be accepted.

SUNDAY 3RD NOVEMBER - RACE DAY – CLOCKS GO BACK
Please note that the clocks go back by -1 hour in the early hours of Sunday 3rd November, giving you an extra hour in bed. Don’t forget to set your clocks back -1 hour before going to bed.

Transport to the Start is organised by New York Road Runners for runners only via your pre-selected method. Your assigned transport option is shown in NYRR account and on your race bib – this must be displayed when boarding your selected transport option.

Staten Island Ferry
• Departure location: Whitehall Terminal, 4 Whitehall Street accessible by the Subway train Line 1 (at South Ferry)
Your Sports Tours representatives will escort anybody who wishes to join them to the Subway Runners will then take the Subway at your own cost. Please meet our staff at 05:00, 05:45 or 06:30 prompt on the corner by the Hard Rock Café (1501 Broadway) if you wish to be escorted Clients at the Mandarin Oriental, please make your way directly to the ferry via Subway train Line 1. CHEER ZONE FOR SPORTS TOURS SPECTATORS
Sports Tours Representatives will escort any spectators who wish to join them to our Cheer Zone Please see your Sports Tours representative to confirm the location and what time they will leave for the Cheer Zone outside Starbucks, 1102 1st Ave between 60th/61st
If spectators wish to go to other viewing points, they are more than welcome. The best way to catch your runner two or three times, at different points along the course, is to take the Subway
POST-FINISH AND EXITING CENTRAL PARK
All runners will receive a poncho in the post-finish area.
Post-Finish Plan – Make a post-finish plan for race day and be aware that cellular saturation may prevent you from using your phone in and around the post-finish area If you’re meeting friends and family, have a preagreed meeting location outside of the runners-only area (advisably away from Central Park). Alternatively, the Family Reunion Area will be located on Central Park West between West 63rd Street and West 65th Street. Further details can be found here
Bag Drop – If you used the bag drop, head to the collection point in the post-finish area located on Central Park West between West 70th Street and West 71st Street
Exit – Runners will exit Central Park at West 77th Street; once on Central Park West, you may exit the runnersonly area at West 76th Street, West 74th Street, or West 69th Street, or continue south to Family Reunion
