T
he changing of the leaves along with the first view of your warm breath touching the cold morning air both contribute to the most exciting time of the year for an elk hunter. Those majestic animals with hundreds of inches of bone on their heads let out that bone chilling scream which sends shivers down my spine even after thirty years of elk hunting. The elk rut is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. If you get to do it during hunting season, you will be back year after year.
