Temple was the site for the first annual SPJST State Volleyball Tournament. There was a crowd of over 120 participants and onlookers for this event. Eight teams representing five districts competed for the first place trophy. The lodges which participated are as follows: DISTRICT I Lodge No. 13, Dime Box Lodge No. 17, New Tabor DISTRICT II Lodge No. 47, Seaton Lodge No. 177, Academy

DISTRICT HI Lodge No. 66, Waco Lodge No. 154, Fort Worth DISTRICT V Lodge No. 88, Houston DISTRICT VII Lodge No. 107, Floresville The tournament got under way around 10:30 a.m. and 14 rounds later the top three teams were determined. Clinching first place by way of the winner's bracket was Lodge No. 17, New Tabor and second place was captured by neighboring Lodge No. 13, Dime Box. Lodge No. 88, Houston hung tough through the loser's bracket to take third place. This event brought a new kind of competition to the SPJST. If one were (Continued on page 3...)
