Mr. and Mrs. Bayer, past residents of Wilson County, have called many places home over the past fifty years. They have resided in San Antonio, California, and presently Elgin, Texas; but they decided to celebrate their anniversary in the same church where they were married September 29, 1931, by Father Peter Zarb. Mrs. Libbie (Svoboda) Bayer was baptized at Sacred Heart as well as their six children — Joseph Verne, Jr., Lawrence Albert,. Alois John, Libbie Ann, Charles William and Thomas Andrew. Many other relatives and friends of Joseph and Libbie joined them to make their anniversary a very happy one indeed, and they would like to extend their thanks and best wishes to all those who attended either in person or in spirit. In lieu of accepting gifts for their anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Bayer requested that gifts be donated to charitable organizations of one's own choice. Joseph and Libbie Bayer will be looking forward to returning to Floresville and Wilson County several times a year to see their relatives and friends, especially at the SPJST Lodge No. 107 of which they are both members over fifty years each.
