Dallas Plans Czechfest Our Czechfest at Lodge No. 84 is August 23rd. The doors open at 11 a.m. Dinner will start being served at 12:30 p.m. consisting of smoked country sausage, old-fashioned pork roast, parsley potatoes, green beans, saurkraut, bread, dessert, tea or coffee. (Our ladies are asked to bring homemade Czech dessert, please). The price will be $3.50 for adults; $1.50 for 12 years and under.

Just because the reporter's pen has been inert for some time does not mean that nothing has been ado with our club; quite the contrary! Practices held were the regular ones, and too, those needed for Temple's Centennial Celebration Pageant. (That activity was submitted to the Vestnik by Linda Wilde to whom goes club appreciation.) that concerned changing the name "Kosar" Street in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to Aileen Creighton Lane. After World War I the Joseph A. Kosar family developed 80 acres of land they owned in the city limits two blocks and lots: one of the streets was named "Kosar" and Kosars had built a house there to make their home. Next to this street, on the north side, there was some land and Del Mar College bought it and built many needed class rooms, library and other buildings. It was located on two blocks between Ayers and Naples Streets. The college, for the enlargement, bought out the home owners on the south side and so, at the present time, the Kosar Street is in the middle of the Del Mar property consisting of 50 by 150 feet size lots. When the seven city council members in the meeting held 22 July 1981 heard our protest and then postponed it for next 14 days, we were not satisfied; then, I felt anxious about it to see how it would be settled. At the uncertainty of the occasion I decided to go about it in a diplomatic way. (To fraternalist dear Frank C. Sacky, my special thanks for the transportation.) July 30 I mailed a letter to the "Corpus Christi Caller", daily morning newspaper. At 11:45 a.m. August 3, I received a telephone call from Mr. Tom Brooks, staffwriter for the "Caller;" he asked me if he could come to my home for more in(Continued on Page 11)
Lodge No. 107 Member Becomes Princess Wendy Ann Bayer has been selected by the Floresville Peanut Festival Association to represent Floresville as a princess to Queen Tunaep XXXVII in the "Court of Our Traditional Peanut Festival." Wendy is the daughter of Polly and Bob Bayer who reside at Rt. 2, Box 154-A, Floresville. Sister Polly is Lodge No. 107 youth leader and Brother Bob is past District VII director. She has one brother John, who is stationed in Germany in the United States Army; and one sister, Roxy who graduated from Floresville High in 1981 and was also a member of last year's court. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Adolph Bayer of Castrovine and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pavliska of Floresville. She will be a senior this fall and she is looking forward to the many activities planned for her in school and also those of the court. She was a member of the Junior Varsity Volleyball Team last year which was undefeated in District Play, she has also been a member of the Junior Varsity Basketball Team for the last two years. Wendy enjoys being with her friends, swimming, horseback riding, dancing, the outdoors, going to movies, listening to music and participating in all kinds of sports. Miss Bayer has been a member of the SPJST Youth Club for 12 years and has served in many offices. She (Continued on Page 12)
