Dallas Lodge No. 130 Sets May 10th Meeting Date; Changes Date For June Meeting Dear Members and Friends: The lodge campout held April 3 through 5 was a great success. The weather turned out to be perfect for camping despite the fact it had just rained before we arrived. It was cool at night, but warmed up during the day. As we headed out of our cabins to the main lodge for breakfast, it was pretty cool, but when we arrived Bob Oates and Arnold Vrla had a nice fire going in the fireplace. Wonder- who got up during the night to add logs? The loss of two pillows was the result of the pillow fight Saturday night; still haven't figured out who won. The wiener roast, hiking, 42 and Uno games kept everyone plenty busy. We are already making plans for another campout in the fall so, for any of you who didn't make this one, hope you can be with us next time. President Rose Parma, at our April meeting, presented 50-year pins to Brother Bob Zvolanek and Brother Frank Sebestik; another member not present for the presentation was Brother Jerry Bouska. Our next meeting will be held May 10, at 4 p.m. The June meeting date has been changed to June 17, at 7 p.m. Fraternally, Martha Vrla Secretary
Graphic Arts Career Jeff Siptak Has Started Early By PAT HAMMOND
Lamar High School's Jeff Siptak seems to be headed for a career in graphic art. The senior has already had his designs placed on signs around town and on school walls. He even designed the emblem on the official Fort Bend County flag. Siptak said he has been interested in art since "I was old enough to know what a pencil and paper were. My mom and dad would give me a tablet and I would doodle and draw. "Anytime art was offered, I took it," Siptak said. He took oil painting, drawing and "any kind of art." (Continued on Page 10)
