Lodge 177 Aids Widow, 5 Children Charity And Community Involvement Lodge 177 Academy turned over in excess of $2,000 to the widow and 5 children of a young man who lost his life in the Academy-Little River area recently as the result of a boating accident. This was announced by President Jerry Tomastik, who wants to thank all those workers and members involved in putting on this event, which was a benefit dance, and especially to the four bands who contributed their musical services free of charge.

ENNIS LODGE NO. 25 HELD SPECIAL CEREMONIES AT THEIR DECEMBER MEETING Lodge Officers, L to R: Treasurer Louis Kudrna, President Van Fowler. Vice Jesse J. Jochec, 80, passed away President James Whitlill, Recording Secretary Margaret Krajca, Youth Leader in the Bellville General Hospital Linda Trojacek, Sergeant-at-Arms Gary Mizell, and Financial Secretary Rita Sunday, February 8th. Funeral Holland. (Pictures by Elizabeth Krajca) services were held Tuesday from the Etlinger Funeral Home in Bellville, with burial in the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville. Ministers offi ciating were the Reverends Gordon Hejl and Henry Beseda, with SL President Nick A. Morris officiating in Czech on behalf of the SPJST. Bro. Jochec joined Lodge No. 1 in Fayetteville in December of 1945 and was a member of that lodge at the time of his death.

Lodge 177 has been very active in contributing to community and charitable causes in their community, including the public schools, and this recent gesture is another in that series which reflects the general philosophy of the officers and members of Lodge 177. As Bro. Jerry Tornastik said, "When we see a need in our community, we try to help. Our lodge has been blessed with good fortune and we feel that we should share that good fortune." - SPJST
