State Representative Dan Kubiak, Dist. 36, is shown taking the oath of office during swearing in ceremonies at the opening of the 67th Texas Legislature in Austin recently. Representative Kubiak is serving his 7th term as a member of the House of Representatives. He is also a sales representative for SPJST Rockdale Lodge No. 174.

Dear SPJST Members: An anniversary celebration of the opening of a new lodge building at 1435 Beall, Houston, Texas will be held February 1, 1981. A baked chicken dinner with all the trimmings will be served beginning at 11:30 a.m. — $3.50 for adults and $2.00 for children. A Social will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a dance at 5 until 9 p.m. with Joe Patek's orchestra furnishing the music. We're looking forward to seeing all our friends on February 1!

January Lodge No. 47, Seaton Meeting Report Dear Brothers and Sisters: Our first monthly meeting of the year was held Sunday, January 4 at 2 p.m. with our outgoing President Jerry Pechal bringing the meeting to order. Our Flagbearers David Pechal and Gene Skrabanek led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. We did not have a youth leader at our annual election of officers in November; however, Sister Shirley Patterson reconsidered and was re(Continued on Page 6)

The year 1980 has passed into oblivion. I hope it was a good year for most of you members and I hope that the new year will be a healthy and blessed one for everyone. The SPJST organization had a very good past year.
