Most, a person find, are truly fraternal in nature and love to get along and consider their fellow humans as an equal and treat them so, however, now and then, some member may, by their actions, reveal themselves not to be so; this type of member soon finds that other members observe only too soon the true nature that lies within a person's heart and, generally, to that person's regret. The well-known saying: "It is much better to have people think you are dumb by remaining silent than to speak up and remove any doubts about the matter." This can be paraphrased, as my father used it: "It is much better if people wonder if you are not egotistic or conceited than for you to boast about what you have done yourself and really make them feel that they are right. If you have accomplished anything, others will recognize it without you calling their attention to it." * * A good example of what was written above is a brilliant young attorney by the name of John Kahane:1- III of Houston, a member ( Lodge No. 88.
