Felix Garner, 55, passed away Oct. 9th in Corpus Christi. Funeral services were held in Mason, Texas. Brother Garner was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 79, Corpus Christi. Jack E. Stone, 57, passed away in Taylor on Oct. 9th. Interment was in the Taylor City Cemetery. Brother Stone was a member of SPJST No. 29, Taylor. • John Kaha,nek, 71, passed away Oct. 10th at his home in the Moravia community near Schulenburg. Interment was in the Moravia Catholic Cemetery. Brother Kahanek was a member of SPJET Lodge No. 23, Moravia. • Jan Rezek, 86, passed away in Galveston County Memorial Hospital on Oct. 7th. Brother Rezek was a member of SPJST Lodge No, 149, Alvin. The Entertainment Committee at Lodge 66, Waco (Linden Hall) is negotiating for the appearance of the Freddy Martin Orchestra in the early part of February, 1967. Martin's Orchestra will appear on the Jackie Gleason ,chow Sunday, Nov. 5th. • • Mrs. W. 4. (Annie) Duckett, 72, passed away in Nightingale Hospital in East Bernard on Oct. 3rd. Interment was in Garden of Memories in East Bernard. Sister Duckett was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 28, East Bernard.

Newsbriefs District III Youth Director Wilma Nesuda, with the help of the membership at Lodge 110, Kaufman, is trying hard to start a youth club at that lodge. She will be meeting soon at Kaufman to help them get started. District II Youth Director Emily Mikeska met recently with a nice group at Lodge 29, Taylor, for the purpose of starting a youth club at the lodge. Here's hoping both efforts meet with Success!

Emma Hrbacek, 64, passed away in Sealy Hospital in Sealy on Oct. 18th. Burial was in Pattison Cemetery in Brookshire, Texas. Sister Hrbacek was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 42, Moravia. • • SMETANA STRING QUARTET IN AUSTIN The Smetana String Quartet from Prague will perform at the University of Texas in Austin on Nov. 16 and 17. Details in next issue. • • Sahrsula Reunion The descendants of Martin Sabrsula held their first family reunion to celebrate the arrival of the Sabrsulas to Texas 85 years ago in. 1881. The reunion was held Sunday, Oct. 16, 1966, at the Hungerford Hall. Relatives from far and near gathered to visit and eat together. Approximately 200 adults and children were present.

Wednesday, November 2, 1966 Mr. R. J. Petrusek of Orchard gave the invocation. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal consisting of all types of meats, salads, sweets, coffee and tea. In the afternoon a meeting was held to elect officers for the coming year. They are: Chairman — Adolf Sabrsula, Wharton; Secretary — Paulette Sabrsula, Boling; Treasurer Ed Sabrsula, Hungerford. All voted to have another reunion next year, the 3rd Sunday in October, at Hungerford. Everyone enjoyed visiting with one another and talking about days gone by. Many happy memories were recalled. Some played cards or dominoes and some danced to the accordion music played by Adolph Michalec, Jr., of Boling. Relatives came from: Penelope, Smithville, Flatonia, Beaumont, Freeport, Houston, Vidor, Orchard, Needvine, Wallis, Rosenberg, Richmond, East Bernard, Bay City, Boling, Pledger, Wharton. Hungerford, Sweeney, Abbott and Conroe.

S LODGE NO. 56, CORPUS CHRISTI Dear Members: Our next regular meeting will be held on the first Sunday, Nov. Gth, at 2 p.m. in the Sokol Hall. LODGE PRAHA NO. 29, TAYLOR Dear Members, I want to remind all members of Lodge Praha that election time is here, not only only the government elections, but our SPJST elections also. Our lodge will hold elections of officers for 1967 on Nov. 13th, 1966. This is your chance to elect officers of your choice. If you have the least interest in the progress of your lodge you should attend this meeting. If you come this time, I am sure that you will be glad you did. This meeting is very important for the future of the lodge. The officers that you elect or re-elect, will feel better if more members take part in the elections.
