ur team has recently grown! Joining us are two very well -known Michigan cannabis influencers, Anthony Freed and Trish Matson. They’ll be working with Dan Keelan and me to develop new content, new products, new collaborations and much more.

Anthony came to us with an idea to develop a cannabis-infused cooking streaming video channel that would feature not only cannabis chefs, but also offer more DIY instruction for people who want to learn how to cook with cannabis without putting their guests to sleep after dinner.

Anthony just returned from the MJBizCon convention in Las Vegas and had a chance to discuss his project with cannabis chefs from around the country. It’s still a work in progress. But input from

our audience and what you’d like to see would be much appreciated.

For Sparx Kitchen we want to feature chefs from around the country, even from around the world.

So, if you are a cannabis chef that would like to work with us, we look forward to hearing from you.

Also attending MIBizCon was Trish. We snared her a press pass so she could have all-area-access to the convention. She shot a lot of video interviews that we will share soon on the Sparx & Recreation YouTube channel.

Trish also is one of the founders of Michigan Weedsters. She and her advocacy group hosted a panel discussion at the convention to share with national cannabis

g Changes Coming In 2024 professionals how they work with Medical Marijuana Regulations in Michigan. We hope to publish her account of that panel discussion soon.

On our wish list is developing a much more comprehensive Michigan cannabis industry calendar. So, if you’re hosting a cannabis-related event in 2024, let us know. We’ll promote your event on Sparx & Recreation, and in our weekly Newsletter published by our sister publication Four20 Post.

Also on our wish list is expanding the promotion of cannabis-friendly B&Bs, motels, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, campgrounds … you name it as long as pot is cool there. If you own or manage one of these businesses, let us know so we can add your event to our calendar.

By the way, Sparx & Recreation and Four20 Post are now working closely with the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association to reach more readers, viewers and collaborators. We plan to expand our community outreach in 2024.

A CONVERSATION WITH

BOONE LABS Boone Labs, Partnered with Kush Masters, Produces Live Rosin, Vape Carts, Gummies Max Boone, director of sales for family-run Boone Labs, joins Sparx & Recreation producer Mike Brennan to provide background on his Buchanan, Michigan, based processing center.

Boone Labs produces live rosin, vape cartridges, gummies and other related products under license from Colorado-based Kush Masters.The company sells its products to about 100 cannabis dispensaries in Michigan.

Boone Labs was founded three years ago by five partners, Max said: “My dad, uncle, a friend from High school, mentor and coach of mine.” He noted his dad, uncle and him all have years of retail experience.

Latrisha Matson Joins Sparx & Recreation Team Latrisha Matson, founder of Michigan Weedsters, has joined the Sparx & Recreation team.

She is interviewed on her first reporting assignment, MjBizCon in Las Vegas, where she interviewed newsmakers, exhibitors and even cannabis chefs.

Trish is well-known in the Michigan cannabis community where she created Michigan Weedsters, an advocacy group that supports medical cannabis legislation and patients. She also does marketing for the annual Ann Arbor Hash Bash.
