TAM is founded by ten pilots as a Brazilian airline company offering charter flights based in the state of São Paulo.

1929

With the purchase of Votec, TAM expands its activity in the central-west and northern regions of Brazil. Ten years later, TAM serves the entire country, and in 1998, the company begins offering flights to other countries.

LAN starts a process of international expansion and growth.

Looking to the Future

The company changes its name to LAN Airlines S.A., a brand that represents the highest standards of service and safety, with LAN Airlines, LAN Express, LAN Perú, LAN Ecuador, and LAN Argentina, as well as LAN Cargo and its affiliates. In 2010, LAN acquires the Colombian airline AIRES.

The region’s most recognized company, with the most routes in Latin America, connects passengers with the world every day. LATAM Airlines is taking off!

We are still building LATAM Airlines, but you can already see some great innovations!

UNIFORMS

FLEET

CABINS

Designer Pedro Lourenço developed the uniforms for both the flight and ground crews of LATAM Airlines, creating new designs that combine passion and elegance.

LATAM Airlines is the first company in Latin America to offer flights on the Airbus A350 XWB and Boeing 787, which are both among the world’s most modern aircraft.

The interior design of the LATAM Airlines fleet’s cabins display a distinctly Latin American flair. The richness of the tropical jungle in the Amazon can be found in elements of the décor, and the colors and textures of the fabrics invoke the landscapes of our continent.
