We are now seeking a highly skilled and versatile Project Accountant who can expertly manage the financial operations for our firm and handle responsibilities equivalent to supporting three entities.

Role Overview:

The Project Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our firm by managing project budgets, ensuring accurate billing, analyzing financial performance, and supporting overall operations. This individual must be a proactive problem-solver, highly organized, and adept at working in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Financial Management:

• Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for multiple projects across the firm.

• Track and manage project costs, ensuring alignment with budgets.

• Collaborate with project managers to identify potential financial risks and opportunities.

• Invoicing and Billing:

• Prepare, review, and send accurate client invoices in accordance with contract terms.

• Ensure timely follow-up on accounts receivable and coordinate collections as needed.

• General Accounting Tasks:

• Reconcile accounts and manage journal entries related to project activities.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and closing processes.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.

• Process Improvement:

• Develop and refine financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Implement best practices for multi-entity financial management.

• Stakeholder Communication:

• Serve as a financial liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams.

• Provide regular updates and insights into financial performance to leadership.

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Location: New York, NY

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in architecture, construction, or a related industry.

• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects or entities simultaneously.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Ajera, or similar tools) and advanced Excel skills.

• Strong understanding of project-based billing, contracts, and financial analysis.

• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
