The Blooming store is part of a redesign of the brands spatial and visual identity.
The project began by an extended period of research and strategic planning as to how we could best help the brand curate their new image.
The brand target market are young professional families who are fully immersed in modern Chinese life whilst still feeling connected to a traditional
shared heritage. As such we created a space that was both modern and experimental whilst being relatable to everyday life.
Traditional Chinese elements and materials were contrasted against unusual materials such as perspex tubes as dividing walls. The overall effect is a stripped back, open space that references a manufacturing heritage whilst being a comfortable environment for families to shop together.

Shanghai
Located in Kunshan, Shanghai, the 500sqm office and design studio had previously been a garments factory floor with a large undefined space, lowered ceiling and collection of central storage rooms.
We were asked to create a unique office that captured the brands modern outlook and approach to design and manufacturing. The space created was stripped back and open plan, a poured resin floor and reflective structures bounced light into the deep floor plan.
An aluminised metal welding curtain created a distinct circulation path throughout the whole space and created a backdrop for photography.
The collaboration continues with the brand and currently we are working on their visual identity along with a new store design.
The client came with a strong aesthetic vision for a new salon space. We responded in helping plan the flow of spaces and mapping the client journey.
Set in a large and bland retail unit, we created smaller zones to allow the clients to have a more personal and intimate experience with their stylist.
Curved walls, surfaces and arches were used to create a softer space within the sleek, minimal aesthetic. Wood, polished plaster and stone were the key material palette with the clients dream of a large tree incorporated into the design.
Opposite, view of the front street facing interior. Right, a birds eye drawing allowed the client to easily understand the flow of spaces and the design as a whole. Below, visualisation of the waiting lounge next to bespoke joinery units with a walk up coffee bar.
London
Created in collaboration with Rachel Thomas. A unique and playful window design that uses a series of bespoke boxes, coloured using a palette from the new Hermès bag accessories range.
A mixture of five box designs with different colour ways was created to display products. A further ‘video box’ was designed to fit an LED screen which played animations created specially for the window using characters from new Hermès products.

New York
In collaboration with Rachel Thomas. A pop up within the Opening Ceremony store in New York to celebrate their collaboration with Espirit.
The design championed the iconic Espirit logo, with each letter becoming a sculptural piece within the space. The letters were abstracted so that they could accommodate space for hanging and displaying product but remained intact enough so that the logo
could be clearly discerned, in the correct order and colour.
A bespoke window sticker decorated the outside of the building with the central focus being on the oversized letters that could be read from the street.
Dubai
In collaboration with Rachel Thomas and Dave Lane. This store is an incredibly unique dimension. The long linear space became a backdrop for an immersive moiré of papers, exploring Hermès famous use of colour and displaying products in a unique and eye catching way.
The client wanted something simple but with a strong impact, and the windows quickly became a hit on social media and was featured in Vogue Arabia.
Above and right, paper sheets each cut to hang from the suspended rail frame which curved around the store window. Cuts in the sheets on the front create openings where products can be displayed. A clear perspex shelf and hanging system is designed to make shelves and rails for the display of scarves.
Above, the papers were designed and cut in London then shipped to Dubai for installation. Paper type and thickness was rigorously tested in order to hang straight without curving or bending when installed in the window.

A new design direction for Calvin Klein performance stores using a distinctive curved metal perforated wall and interior mesh walls.
To maintain the iconic Calvin Klein aesthetic exposed concrete, light wood and minimal shapes were used to create a space that felt typically CK whilst echoing the active performance clothing range.
