01 INTRODUCTION EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Amianto Services are an award-winning licensed asbestos removal and abatements contractor based in the North West. We provide a nationwide expertly run and efficient asbestos removal and disposal service, ensuring quality and compliance with every project to protect our customers reputation. The staff we employ absorb the culture and morals of the company and contribute to making a difference to our communities and the people who live in them.

Through our dedication, we are able to evidence our positive benefits to society and based on the National TOMs Framework guidelines, this evaluation confirms that additional social value has been created locally through our working practices and activities. It was calculated that £2.57m of value has been delivered in 2023/24; leading to a combined Social Return on Investment (SROI) of £2.12 for every £1 invested.

The social value total combines the impact achieved on behalf of clients, stakeholders and local communities during the financial year 2023-24.

03 SOCIAL IMPACT

Social Impact benefits have been created through local employment, training and education activities provided by Amianto Services. These achievements have resulted in the delivery of an impact value of £798k.

A detailed review established that 26 colleagues have worked for the organisation in 2023/24, with 100% considered to be local*.

Colleagues have access to a wide variety of employee benefits that impact positively on their health and wellbeing, as well as providing educational, financial and environmental support.

We proudly promote a positive culture of valuing and celebrating diversity and accepting and including people regardless of their personal characteristics or circumstances

TRAINING AND EDUCATION

T16 learning weeks have been accessed by colleagues, contributing to their personal and professional development.

In addition, we provide health check and bespoke training to ensure colleagues remain safe and well whilst undertaking works.

Colleagues took part in the Try a Trade event at Impact Sefton, to showcase the range of careers available at The Sovini Group, share their experiences, and their professional and educational journeys.

Jason Webb, Headteacher at Impact Sefton, said: “Our students embraced all the trades on offer and took on some valuable insights into the world of work. A big thank you to Amianto Services for volunteering their time.”

TRY A TRADE

We proudly collaborated with Group partners Sovini Property Services to support Impact Sefton in encouraging local young people to try a trade, providing an insight into a career in construction.

Students were able to gain valuable hands-on experience, through power tool training and electrical circuit training, whilst being guided by industry professionals, as well as learning about the dangers of asbestos.

04 ECONOMIC IMPACT

Economic benefits have been established through the local supply chain and the local workforce providing goods and services to businesses and communities across the Northwest. This has resulted in achieving a calculated retained local economic value of £1.75m.

The retained local economic benefit being achieved through the spend by the local workforce, along with the additional benefit that has been achieved through investment in the supply chain.

05 ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT

Our environmental practices are shaped by The Sovini Group’s Net Zero Carbon Commitment, and we’re taking decisive action to tackle our carbon footprint, with our goal being to achieve net zero emissions.

Environmental gains have been achieved through areas such as; innovative ways of recycling construction waste, using Euro 6 standard fuelefficient vehicles, Fleetmatics toolkits, local recruitment and use of local suppliers to create a value of £12k.

06 CHARITABLE IMPACT

Several charitable activities have taken place to benefit local communities, from donating labour and services, volunteering and supporting community events and groups.

ADOPT A GINGERBREAD PROJECT

Back in 2020, Kindfulness Coffee Club launched their ‘Adopt a Gingerbread’ project which supports local children across Sefton, who are vulnerable and at risk of not receiving any gifts for Christmas.

In collaboration with Group partners One Vision Housing, we proudly donated 150 Christmas parcels, with

colleagues volunteering their time to pack the gifts each containing essential items such as pyjamas, socks, toiletries, and toys.

All families have been referred from health professionals and this project ensures they will have a gift to open on Christmas day.

Amianto Services, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and community groups have delivered activities in 2023/24, creating social value. The results confirm the creation of value across the four benefit areas:

A combined added value of £2.57mhas been generated through work benefitting internal and external stakeholders, communities, businesses and economies locally. The estimated Social Return on Investment (SROI) is £2.12 for every £1 invested in Amianto.

Evidence shows that we are acting responsibly in addressing several of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, ensuring activities carried out will create a more sustainable future for all.
