Talk about wanting to make a good thirst impression. According to a survey commissioned by Budweiser, a good chunk of us worry about how our beverage choices are perceived by colleagues. (In general, the results indicated that opting for a beer or a margarita makes you seem more approachable than choosing a glass of wine.) When we’re with kindred spirits, however, concern over sending signals fades: Only 20 percent of the 2,000 respondents carefully considered their picks while out with friends. As for what you should order if you’re looking for a raise, well, let us drink—er, think—on it.

39%

of us think strategically about our drink choices at work events.

LIBATION REVELATION The survey also showed that 61 percent of us think that what we drink at a bar offers significant clues about our personalities.
