Southtowns Catholic School Builds Bird Feeder Arts and Crafts at the Club A piece of the Boys and Girls Club of Eden’s mission is to provide children with positive youth development activities during their leisure time. One part of their programming is dedicated to the arts. Children participate in weekly art and crafts activities, which help to foster individual talents and interests. The children pictured above come from different grade levels and benefit from the social interaction provided by the Club – all while painting a beautiful spring scene! __________
Students in Miss Strozyk's grade 4 class are working on a unit about Birds and their Adaptations. Using an ESP Science Kit, students discussed types of birds, characteristics of different types of birds and habits of birds. The students then built a bird feeder out of pvc pipes, aluminum trays and other recycled materials and set it up in the school courtyard. Spring AUTO SAVINGS Factors To Consider When Looking For A New Car Spring is a season of rebirth, and this rejuvenating time of year can be a great time for motorists to reexamine their vehicles and start looking for new rides. With spring road trips and summer vacations on the not-too-distant horizon, drivers who have been eyeing a new vehicle may feel the time has never been more right to sell or trade-in their current vehicles for ones more suited to their current needs. Once drivers have made the decision to get a new car, they must then decide which car is right for them. Such a decision not only requires a careful consideration of budget, but also a thorough examination of what you want out of your next vehicle. The following are some factors prospective car buyers may want to consider as they begin to look for new cars. Passengers: Parents who drive have different needs than drivers who don’t have children. When shopping around for your next vehicle, consider how many passengers you typically have in the car. Parents who drive the kids to and from a full slate of extracurricular activities may not only want a car with enough room to accommodate their brood, but also one that’s fuel-efficient so all those trips to the soccer fields and dance recitals won’t break the bank. Singles who don’t often have passengers and don’t have a driveway or assigned parking space may benefit from a small vehicle that’s fuel-efficient and easy to park. Whatever your needs, try to avoid buying more or less car than you really need. Driving habits: Your personal driving habits are another factor to consider before buying your next car. When driving, are you traversing the nation’s highways or sticking mainly to city streets? Each month the Staff at The Boys and Girls Club of Eden choose a student of the month as well as a boy and girl for the member of the month. The members are chosen based on their participation, following all of the club rules, and being a good role model for their peers. The Member's this month are; girl member Paige Metros, boy member Camdin Lobello, and student of the month Joshua Sullivan. Each member were asked the following questions: Paige Metros: What do you want to be when you grow up? I would like to be a veterinarian. Who do you admire the most a why? I admire my Mom because she takes care of me and is a hard worker. What is your favorite thing to do at the club? I REALLY like our junior staff meetings, I also like cooking club and going on field trips. Camdin Lobello: What do you want to be when you grow up? I really want to be a police officer. Who do you admire the most a why? I look up to both of my brothers because they are nice to me. What is your favorite thing to do at the club? I like hangout with all of my friends and go to the playground. Joshua Sullivan: What do you want to be when you grow up? I would like to be a wrestler, and an astronaut because I love space and a Lego architect. I love building with legos. Who do you admire the most a why? I look up to my cousin Brenden because he is thoughtful, generous, kind, a good snow boarding teacher, and super fun to play sports and video games with. What is your favorite thing to do at the club? My favorite thing to do at the club is to go on the nature trail with my friends, Troy W, Troy P, Tyler S, Landon F, Chris K, Kaleb S and Matt K, we all have a ton of fun in the woods exploring and playing zombie apocalypse.
