RICHARD L. “RICHIE” MOSHERS A Mass of Chirstian Burial was held for Richard L. Moshers, of Cattaraugus, NY, who died on Thursday August 29, 2013. He was born November 5, 1933 in Lackwanna, NY the son of William G. and LaFrances (Lewis) Mosher. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel in Lackwanna, NY where he worked for over 34 years. Later in life he had worked for Gernatt Gravel Products in South Dayton, NY. Mr. Mosher was a member of the Little Valley American Legion Post 531, a Life Member of the Springville VFW, a member of the Randolph Moose and the Cattatraugus Fireman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, and was an avid Euchre Player. Besides his wife Patricia (Nordblum), to whom he was married over 42 years, he is survived by 2 sons William Mosher of Florida, Rickie (Anita) Mosher of South Dayton NY, 7 daughters Cindy Lee Wells of Oak Hill Fl, Jackie (Robert) Ellis of Leon NY, Debbie (Ron) Jedrysik of Sinclairville NY, Barbara (Greg) Hallett of Cattaraugus NY, Laura Bradley of Cattaraugus NY, Sandra Mosher of North Carolina and Rachele (Dan) Irish of Cattaraugus NY. 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren 2 brothers Alex McLellan of Little Valley NY, James (Pat) McLellan of Boston NY and 2 sisters Jean Hummel of North Boston NY, and Betty (Herb) Fiebelkorn of Hamburg NY also survive. He was predeceased by his step mother Agnes Mosher, 2 Sons Gary “Bo” Tucholski and Joe Stworzdylak, 2 brothers Kenny Mosher, Donald McLellan, and 3 sisters Dorothy Mosher, Lil Scharf and Anna Stworzdlak. _______
CHARLES M. DALRYMPLE Charles M. Dalrymple, age 87, of Eden, New York died peacefully with his daughter by his side. He was born September 20, 1925 in Silver Creek, NY. He was the son of the late Erie and Hattie Dalrymple. Charles grew up on a large grape farm in Silver Creek. He had a special love for farming as he farmed when he could throughout his life. He worked for PaigeHarms Oil Company from 1949-1970, the worked for the Erie County Water Authority as the Senior Pump Operator from 1970-1980 He was the Eden Highway Superintendent in Eden, New York from 1980 until 1990. Charles served as an Eden Town Councilman in the early 1990’s. He was a Life member of the Eden Fire Department serving as Fire Chief from 1968-1971 and was Eden Fire Department President from 19771979. He was a member of St. John’s Community Church in Eden. Charles had a special love for antique tractors. He was a member of the Chautauqua County Steam Association. He was the devoted husband of late Rosemary A. (Abagnale) and companion of late Ida Potupjalenko. He was the loving Father of Bridget Benoit; Grandfather Shauna Greene and brother of late Donald and Jerry. JOHN ALMENDINGER A mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 14th for John Almendinger, 85, of Eden, who died on Monday, September 9, 2013. He was survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia (Sherry) Almendinger; son John Almendinger Jr., daughter’s Julie (Carl) Allen Otis, Suzanne (David) Krycia, Lisa Almendinger Summar, Annie (Nelson) Sheehan, and Jill Ann (Peter) Brydges; brother of Dick, Robert, sister Marjorie Crocoll; grandchildren Bradley Summar, Jacqueline (Gene) Partridge, Emily Allen, Gregory (Michelle) Summar, Stefany Almendinger, Eric (Margaret) Krycia, Claire Otis, Ryan Sheehan, Amelia Summar, Eden Brydges and Carl (Sarah) Otis; great-grandchildren James Otis, Emma Partridge, Owen Krycia; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Born on June 10, 1928 in Titusville, PA, to the late Adrian and Alice (Boyle) Almendinger. After graduation from Angola high school, he enlisted in the US Army and served until 1948. Upon his return he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Sherry, in January of 1951. They spent 55 years raising six children in the town of Eden. After attending UB, Jack built homes in the Hamburg and Angola area with his father before beginning a long career in Management at the Ford Stamping Plant. In retirement he wintered in Naples, FL where he enjoyed golfing and entertaining family. _______
AMANDA COOK Funeral servies were held for Amanda Cook, age 25, of The Cattaraugus Indian Reservation, who passed suddenly on September 8th, 2013. She was the loving daughter of Roger and Robin Cook, beloved sister of Patrick Cook, cherished granddaughter of Betty (late Rufus) Jacobs and the late Carl and Lorraine (Bixler) Bloss. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Wentland Funeral Home in North Collins, NY. _______

Cardiac rehab departments at two TLC Health Network locations will benefit from the generosity of participants, prize sponsors, and donors at a recent golf tournament held at Gowanda Country Club in Collins. One hundred and four golfers participated in the annual Dr. Russell J. Joy Memorial Golf Tournament on Wed., Aug. 28, with proceeds used for the purchase of new and updated cardiac rehab exercise equipment for Lake Shore Health Care Center in Irving and Gowanda Urgent Care & Medical Center. M&T Insurance Agency, Inc., was the tournament co-sponsor. Winning the top team prize were Sam Crisante, University at Buffalo (ret.); Dan Misko and Dan Sasso, ComDoc; and Vince Puglia, Dialogic. TLC Health Network and Lake Erie Regional Health System officials thank all those who participated in the day’s outing, including hospital volunteers and staff. ANNUAL TLC HEALTH NETWORK GOLF TOURNAMENT RAISES FUNDS FOR CARDIAC REHAB PROGRAM
On Thursday, August 8, the American Legion Post 928, The Sons of the Legion and the Auxiliary met with Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center. The American Legion, the Sons of the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary made a donation of $500 each for a total of $1500 to Operation Purple Camp. Operation Purple Camp is the only camp program in western NY designed specifically for military youth. One of the week’s of Operation Purple Camp is held at Pioneer Camp and Retreat Center in Angola. This year the camp was held July 14-19 and the week was full of the best camp activities -- boats, beach, woods, ropes course, campfires, games, campouts, sports, zip lines, and more! Two of the Juniors from the American Legion, Alexis and Lacie McMurray, attended the Operation Purple Camp this past July.
