Southside Scoop 3.12.23

Recently, while consuming the life-lessons content of a televised documentary about Mr. Deion Sanders, my curiosity was heightened by a statement he often made throughout the program. His consistent declaration to his trainees was “dominate (dominate the weakness inside of you).”

Sanders taught his tutees that “when you cannot raise up yourself change the way you think about your weaknesses (change or remodel what you think about the totality of yourself)

Now, that sent my mind straight to II Corinthians 12:1-10 where we learn that the Apostle Paul basically ‘boasted’ about his weaknesses Through divinely inspired revelations, Paul concluded that his weaknesses were, in fact, best for him After begging GOD to remove the pain and agony he was experiencing so he could go about his business to boastfully perform his perceived job, Paul willfully submitted his will to GODs will It looked like Paul was determined to tell his audience about his having been “caught up to the third heaven,” and report to them the astoundingly unintelligible things he had both seen and heard

Ok, let’s briefly think about it Sanders taught his tutees to dominate their weaknesses so they could win games, and so they could win at life with all of its ups and downs No matter what, they were to overcome their fears and weaknesses in order to Stand Tall contributing goodness to their team, their families, their communities, to the overall society Lastly, Sanders said that even in trouble he “trusts GOD with everything I got – whatever I go through, I know GOD has a plan ”

Well, that is exactly what the Scriptures guide us to grasp also! However, thank Jehovah Jireh Who provides our every need according to His riches in the glory that pours from Christ Jesus! We do it through Love! Look at what GOD did for Brother Thomas and for us last week! He showed Himself to us through the pain Brother Thomas was experiencing! Phenomenal!

Yes, GOD ushered us all wherein we were able to see Brother Thomas allow his human frailty to be exposed Hence, this genuine expression of pain and weakness allows and leads Brother Thomas, and each of us to confidently lean on Christ and His Strength (2 Cor 12:1-10)! By GODs Grace and Wisdom, we along with Brother Thomas can rest assured that we don’t have to concentrate on dominating because our GOD is the Great Dominator, Regulator, and Remodeler in our lives forever (Romans 8:1, 28; Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Proverbs 3:6)!
