Jesus being The Light of the World means you, who believe Him, do not have to take control Jesus is The Light of the world Who shines through you! So, just relax and let Him have His way shining through you just as you are! Refer to Proverbs 3:5 for a bit more support here: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding”
It’s kind of hard, isn’t it – relaxing and not taking control? After all, we want to be at our best for Him, so we try to better our appearances and our efforts so as to be pleasing to Him. Ultimately, we learn there is nothing, within our own power, we can do to be better suited to serve and to worship and to honor GOD! The best we can do is to believe/trust, love and follow Him.

world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life. (John 8:12 NLT)” John also wrote: “But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin (IJohn1:7NLT)”
Therefore, once followers of Jesus Christ recognize/realize, accept, and live in the posture of being under Jesus’ leadership, expectations, and teachings then we can be His obedient and authentic lights/conduits to the world! When you are clear regarding your purpose, you can better serve Christ’smissionasforetoldinIsaiah61:1-3(TLB):
“TheSpiritoftheLordGodisuponme,becausetheLordhasanointedmetobringgoodnewsto thesufferingandafflicted.Hehassentmetocomfortthebrokenhearted,toannouncelibertyto captives,andtoopentheeyesoftheblind Hehassentmetotellthosewhomournthatthetime ofGod’sfavortothemhascome Toallwhomourn hewillgive joyinsteadofmourning; praiseinsteadofheaviness ForGod’s ownglory”
There are scores of people throughout the world, and all around you, who are devoid of love/peace, needing to be led by you to Christ’s Gospel/Good-News-Message You, as a recruited believing follower are sanctioned/saved/freed to recruit them so they may experience being freed by Christ! Paul clearly expressed this in Ephesians: “for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light intheLord.Walkaschildrenoflight.(Ephesians5:8ESV)”
Right here in America there are many people, mostly of color, whose minds are misguided (like Eve-Adam), and they need to see/believe/follow the Light of Christ through you! Many of them believetheliestoldforcenturiesthattheyarefailures/cursed/ignorant/worthless Tobefreed/saved, theyneedyour/ourshiningChrist-lightandcompassion!
