Southside Scoop 3.19.23

As our minds are being progressively opened to the absoluteness of Christ’s love and dedication to both Jehovah and to us (His Image Bearers), we learn to better understand the power He gives us. Though we have lived in this society of hard times and gross inequality and injustice, our minds are being re-trained (remodeled) to refer to the truths found in the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.

In Verse Three it is stated that “Then God said,“Let there belight”; and there was light.”

Thus, later in the chapter after speaking everything into existence, Elohim said, “Let us make human beings (Verse 26; adam – Hebrew) in our image, to be like us.” So, exactly what GOD said became reality like so: “So God created human beings (Verse 27; ha-adamHebrew) in his own image. In the image of God, he created them; male and female he created them.” GOD said it, and acted upon His decisive words!

Hmmm, the question is begging to be asked. It is a question that has been posed to us Image Bearers in various ways throughout many centuries even into this very day. What is the question? In all probability each of us knows it to be: Do we live as though we are GOD’s authentic created beings who say and do what we decide (to His honor and glory)? And further, do we confidently live our lives as though we KNOW who we are and Whose we are? Do we recognize that our entire existence is based upon us loving, adoring, worshipping GOD, and keeping His commandments (to love Him, self, and others {in that order}; Ecclesiastes 12:13)?

Jesus, being in the image of GOD, showed those who followed Him just how important and powerful the spoken word is. When He was hungry and passed by a fig tree that looked like it had edible fruit, but did not, He cursed it and it withered based on His word. Peter was astounded and (essentially) asked why. Jesus replied, always “Have faith in GOD.” The truth is, you can say to (command) the mountain (in your view, in your way) to move, and believe without a doubt what you say, it will happen! (See Mark 11:12-26)

Therefore, as GOD’s Image Bearers and Worshippers, you are assured to have dominion over things on this earth especially as they pertain to your consistent loving relationship with Him! As Jesus told His disciples and tells us today to “believe that you will receive whatever you ask when you pray!”
