Since we can proclaim The Lord’s goodness in song and in speech, let’s intentionally declare that GOD Is truly in us. In last week’s article we focused on the fact of GOD’s Presence within us. So, during this month let’s take a look at GOD’s manner of enhancing our lives.
Leadership suggests we review Romans 8:28 in order to “explore how GOD repurposes (regenerates, remodels, reprocesses…) us for His glory despite the imperfections in our past.” Hence, the theme for this month is “Repurpose.” We’ll delve a little further into GOD’s assuring that we glorify Him without regard to our past imperfections. First, let’s suppose that imperfections sometime occur daily in our lives. Would you tend to agree that there are times we are subject to flawed thinking (that is – not believing GOD has made us complete in His sight and for His purpose)? Take a few moments and read Colossians 2:8-12 in order to get a grasp on this supposition.
Perhaps we are willing to admit that our flawed thinking is more customary than we’d like to acknowledge. The Colossians author wrote a convincing message such that the readers could visualize how GOD guides and reminds the readers just how fully He reveres Christ and the work He did to deliver us back to Abba. With our twisted thinking (which ends in sinning against GOD), He uses Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and victory to make sure all things fit into His plan for good! This, of course, is true for those who are Christ lovers and who are called according to His design and purpose. As you are aware, this Christ-walk for us is serious. I say so because, on a personal basis, I’m daily learning the term ‘repurpose’ can mean that while sitting in and stewing over perceived maladies, and being troubled by varying emotional experiences, at the very same time I’m finding joy talking to GOD and relying on Him for direction in the midst of chaos, confusion, loss, pain, etcetera. Is this true for you?
When sitting in and/or stewing over occurrences in our lives, the lesson is clear and rather simple yet profound as detailed in the Psalms regarding David. Repeatedly, David declared that GOD always protected him, guided him, ‘re-created’ a clean heart/mind in him. The same is true of GOD’s Love and Care for us! GOD constantly Blesses us as we determine to be active followers of Christ who desire to please and reverence (worship) GOD!
Many years ago, my mother saw me being amazed by some of the popular preachers of that time. She immediately referred me to Psalm 37:3-8a, 23, 25. Her desire was for me to trust, delight in, commit to GOD. All these years Verses 3-5, 23, 25 help repurpose my mind!
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
