Athletics at Southridge One of my earliest memories of Southridge was when my son, who was in Grade 11 at the time, came home and announced that he would be on the Senior Boys’ Soccer team. I smiled. I was impressed because he had not played soccer for quite some time. He then pointed out that all boys in his class would be on the team, otherwise, we would be unable to field a complete senior team.
their Provincial Championship title. This level of accomplishment has not been limited to senior teams. and helps them to establish healthy lifestyles. Strong athletics programs allow students to develop leadership skills, selfconfidence, the ability to work as part of a team, to respond to setbacks and adversity with resilience and a host of other valuable life skills and attributes of strong character. Athletics also develops students’ physical attributes such as balance, agility, strength and fitness
As a community, we should be extremely grateful for the skill, dedication and the values espoused by our coaches. They have worked diligently in building these programs and demonstrated amazing commitment to our athletes through extensive sacrifices of personal and family time. Their efforts have provided the inspiration for the outstanding athletics programs that our students now enjoy. - William Jones
