f you’re a South County local, you’ve probably seen the aesthetic improvements to the outdoor seating area of Mission Grill (across the street from the Mission). What you might not have seen is they installed a new kitchen, new roof, new bathrooms, new customer order counter and have expanded the seating to accommodate 150 people. The view from the patio features either the historic Mission or the vintage train station with the San Juan hills in the background. Mission Grill has new menu items that are so yummy, I’m drooling as I type. I’m talking about

the Steak Asada with fire-grilled guacamole, the Calamari Po-Boy, Philly Mex, and a scrumptious Pulled BBQ Pork sandwich with chipotle coleslaw. They’ve created new burgers like the Bacon Avocado Cheddar - served with jalapeno bacon, avocado, cheddar, caramelized onions and all of the fixings, and they threw down on a fabulous new Chicken Cheesy Enchilada soup. Sweet sweatpants - it’s all so good. Actually, most of it is surprisingly healthy so no worries about ordering what you want! Mission Grill features daily specials (Taco Tuesdays, Kid's Eat Free Wednesdays, and Burger Deal Thursdays), live music on the patio every weekend afternoon, and live music in the summer following each Mission Concert Under The Stars. They are quickly becoming well known for their catering for small parties or up to 200+ people. They deliver to Zoomars and other local attractions for special events! Be smart and take advantage of their early reservations for the Swallow's Day Parade on March 23. Check their facebook for all of the latest!
