Campaign Launched to Save Bristol’s Last Blue Glass Site Over 7,000 people have signed a petition to help relocate a traditional glass blowing business in South Bristol. The glassblowers are now looking for a new home as the lease expires in February 2026 and is not set to be renewed. The site of the glass workshop and store in Arnos Vale is set to be turned into flats after they are evicted. Bristol Blue Glass was started in 1988 by James Adlington to re-establish the glassmaking tradition of Bristol that had been lost for over 60 years. The tradition can be traced as far back as the late 17th century and has been stayed in the area since then. Bristol Blue Glass managing director, Suzanne Adlington, said: “I am deeply grateful for the overwhelming love and support we've received for our petition to save Bristol Blue Glass. With a special thank you to councillor Andrew Varney who started the

call or text 07852 690440 or 07872 559692. If you can still see him, please CALL IMMEDIATELY. He is fully flighted and based upon how windy it has recently been he could have roamed quite far from home. Please keep an eye out and try to check your gardens, garages and roofs or ledges of buildings. He was last sighted in Redcatch Park shortly after escaping but sadly

hasn’t been seen since. Phoenix is a friendly parrot that can talk and may fly over to you, if he does, please remain calm and take him inside if you are near a building and call as soon as possible. If you think you know someone who has him please contact the numbers so his family can get their beloved bird back.
