“And so with the sunshine and the great burst of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow fast in movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” (F. Scott Fitzgerald)

Hot and Cold Overlap in ‘15 by Rick Winterson
As you are reading this issue of South Boston Online, you are nearing the end of a stormy week that featured temperatures in the 90s, along with stifling humidity, rains, and even a bit of hail. Everyone was complaining that the socalled “Dog Days of August” had come a week early. high mound of white stuff on the snow farm at the northern end of Tide Street in the Seaport’s Marine Industrial Park finally melted away on July 14. That’s nine feet, two and a half inches, compared to the previous record in 1995-1996 of eight feet, eleven and a half inches. Furthermore, almost all of last winter’s 110.6 inches fell in six short weeks that began with a double storm over the last weekend of January and continued on page 8
