Seaport Square Breaks Ground A large, varied, and elegant portion of the South Boston Waterfront’s build-out broke ground last week – the Seaport Square complex – a development of the Berkshire Group, Boston Global Development, and WS Development. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in a tent on the Seaport Square site at 55 Northern Avenue across from Fan Pier. Seaport Square executives, elected officials, and the press filled the tent. The business entities that are behind the massive development include Boston Global Investors (BGI), the Berkshire Group, and WS Development. One Seaport Square’s twin towers were designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects. John Hynes III, the CEO of BGI, opened the groundbreaking ceremony by thanking the many talented individuals and groups that got the One Seaport Square project up and running. He promised a truly mixed-use development that
