Dear nonprofit, I’ve been privileged to spend over three decades working in the trenches of the nonprofit world, an experience that’s profoundly affected my personal and professional lives. I've seen firsthand how the passionate work of staff members, volunteers and other organizations creates amazing differences in the lives of friends and neighbors - and in the quality of life in our community. I've brought my family - my wife and our two teenage children - into the nonprofit world, where we volunteer together. So when we began publishing Sophisticated Living magazine 13 years ago, we made supporting charities a priority in our editorial content. I understand that nonprofits' effectiveness are multiplied when coupled with sound financial support. One obstacle I've noticed time and again is that it can be difficult for a charity to stand out. That’s why we began publishing the Sophisticated Giving Charity Register, an unmatched giving guide that informs and influences Indianapolis' most affluent residents - those who can make significant contributions of time, talent and treasure to your organization - and distributing it alongside our established print edition. To mark the 10th anniversary of the Sophisticated Giving Charity Register, we are implementing substantially reduced ad rates for both nonprofits and businesses to encourage widespread participation throughout our community. The two-page format for each cause featured in the book provides ample space for each organization to create a compelling case for itself, and a comprehensive annual event calendar ensures that the guide will be used throughout the year. Above all, we created the Sophisticated Giving Charity Register to educate, inform and inspire Sophisticated Living readers, and to help you continue your important charitable endeavors.
