Requiem for Remembrance
Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem for soprano, baritone, choir and orchestra (played on the Chapel’s magnificent Willis organ) remembers the dead and consoles the living with music of poignant elegance and heavenly beauty. It is one of the most beloved sacred works in the repertoire – timeless, contemplative and radiant. Receiving its premiere in the Madeleine in Paris in 1888, the Requiem was also performed at Fauré’s own funeral in 1924. The famous Pie Jesu fourth movement features a soprano soloist singing the prayer for everlasting rest.

In partnership with the House of Dior, Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris tells the story of a widowed cleaning lady in 1950s London who falls madly in love with a couture Dior dress, and decides that she must have one of her own. After she works, starves and gambles to raise the funds to pursue her dream, she embarks on an adventure to Paris which will change not only her own outlook, but the very future of the House of Dior. Staring Isabelle Huppert, Jason Isaacs and Lesley Manville.

The film about the real-life Cornish sea shanty group The Fisherman’s Friends is set to return to the big screen in 2022. The original film told the story of the sea shanty group from Port Isaac in Cornwall, who found global fame after being plucked from obscurity by a record label executive, played by Daniel Mays. Fisherman’s Friends: One and All will continue following the now highly successful sea shanty crew as they handle their new-found fame. The film will tell the story of the release of their second album and their debut on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Richard Harrington, Ramon Tikaram and Joshua Maguire join the cast along with singer-songwriter Imelda May, who makes her acting debut.

From Oscar-nominated visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ drama Elvis, starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks. The film explores the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’s life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).
