โรตารีมีวัตถุประสงค เพื่อสนับสนุนและสงเสริมอุดมการณ แหงการบำเพ็ญประโยชน เพื่อเปนพื้นฐานของความอุตสาหะ อันมีคุณคา โดยมุงสนับสนุนและสงเสริม

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basic of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster : First The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; Second High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifyin of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society : Third The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life : Fourth The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

เดือนตุลาคมที่ผานมาพวกเราชาวโรแทเรียนภาค 3350 ไดทำกิจกรรม รวมกันมากมาย อาทิเชน โครงการขี่จักรยานหาทุนเพื่อปองกันและขจัด โปลิโอใหหมดสิ้นไปในวันที่ 24 ตุลาคม ซึ่งมูลนิธิโรตารีสากลไดกำหนด ให เปนวันโปลิโอโลก งานนี้จัดโดย สร.ยางกุง สร.เซ็นทรัลยางกุง โดยความ รวมมือของกระทรวงสาธารณสุขประเทศเมียนมาร องคกร UNICEF, WHO และอื่นๆ ซึ่งงานนี้ประสบความสำเร็จเปนอยางสูง ในวันที่ 25 ตุลาคมชวงเชา ผมและนายกสโมสรตางๆ รวมทั้งมวลมิตร โรแทเรี ย นไดไปรวมทำบุ ญ ที ่ ว ั ด โพธิ ์ เ นื ่ อ งในวั น คลายวั น เกิ ด ของผม พวกเราไดตั้งจิตอฐิษฐานอุทิศสวนบุญกุศลใหกับโรแทเรียน ภาค 3350 ที่ล วงลับไปแลว และยังไดรวมบริจาคเงินเพื่อมอบใหมูลนิธิของ รพ.สงฆ เพื่อเปนทุนในการดูแลรักษาพระสงฆที่เจ็บปวย อาพาธรวมเปนเงินทั้งสิ้น 80,000 บาท ในวันรุงขึ้นก็บินไปโตเกียวพรอมกับ อผภ.ไชยไว พูนลาภมงคล และ คณะสมาชิกของ สโมสรโรตารีปทุมวัน เพื่อเขารวมงานประชุมใหญประจำป (District Conference) ของภาค 2550 และลาสุดเมื่อวันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน ผมไดรับเชิญไปรวมงานฉลอง ครบรอบการกอตั้งสโมสร 18 ปของสร.กรุงเทพบางนา ที่มาเกา งานนี้จัดไดดี และใหเกียรติผมเปนอยางมากในฐานะผูวาการภาค 3350 ขอขอบคุณนายก ปาริชาติ และ อผภ.เจสัน ลิม ที่ใหเกียรติและดูแลผมเปนอยางดี การเยี่ยมสโมสรอยางเปนทางการของผมยังคงดำเนินตอไป ขณะนี้ผม ไดเยี่ยมสโมสรไปแลว 81 สโมสรยังคงเหลืออีก 31 สโมสรที่จะตองเยี่ยมครับ เดื อ นหนาเรามี ก ิ จ กรรมสำคั ญ อี ก กิ จ กรรมหนึ ่ ง นั ่ น คื อ โครงการ ปลูกหญาแฝกที่หนองโนนตาย จังหวัดสกลนคร ในวันที่ 15 ธันวาคม ขอให พวกเราไปรวมสรางประวัติศาสตรรวมกันในวันดังกลาวนะครับ

Passed October, we the Rotarians of District 3350 have done a lot of service projects such as "Ride to End Polio" on 24 October, the day the Rotary Foundation declared to be the World Polio Day. The event was held by the Rotary Club of Yangon and the Rotary Club of Central Yangon, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Myanmar, UNICEF, WHO, and many others in which the project was in great success.

In the morning of 25 October, fellow Club Presidents and I, as well as Rotarians, have had merit making at Wat Pho on the occasion of my birthday. On this opportunity, we have preyed for deceased Rotarians of District 3350. We also donated money to Monk Hospital as funds to cure injured and sickened monks in the total of 80,000 Baht.

On the next day, I traveled to Tokyo with PDG Chaivai Poonlapmongkol and members of RC Patumwan to attend District Conference of District 2550.

And lastly, on 10 November I was invited to attend the 18th Charter Anniversary of RC Bangkok Bangna in Macao. The celebration was well organized and I felt very honoured as District 3350 Governor. Thanks to President Parichart and PDG Jason for their kind hospitality.

My Official Visits still continue. I have already visited 81 clubs, which leaves 31 clubs remaining.

Next month we have another important project, which is the "Pond of Love" Project in Sakon Nakhon on 15 December. Let's go and make a history together.

มิตรโรแทเรียนที่รัก เมื่อตนเดือนมิถุนายน ราวๆ ๓๐ ปกอน ผมมีกิจธุระจะตองเดินทาง ไปลาสเวกัส ขณะนั้นผมเปนโรแทเรียนมาประมาณ ๖ ปแลว ผมเคยคิด เขาขางตัวเองวาเปนสมาชิกที่เขมแข็งดีแลว เขาประชุมโรตารีทุกการ ประชุม เคยรับทำหนาที่เลขานุการสโมสร รูจักสมาชิกทุกคนในสโมสร เปนอยางดี ผมคิดเอาเองวา โรตารีเปนเพียงองคกรในระดับชุมชนหนึ่ง ผมมีการติดตออยูในเมืองนัสซอ และอยูในหมูเกาะบาฮามัส ไมเคยไป ไกลกวานั้น ผมไมเคยใหความสนใจเรื่องโรตารี เกินไปไกลกวาหมูเกาะบาฮามัส และไมเคยมีความคิดที่จะเดินทางไปรวมประชุมใหญโรตารีสากลเลย แตในชวงฤดูใบไมผลิปนั้น ผมมาคิดไดวาการเดินทางไปลาสเวกัสของ ผมนั้นจะบังเอิญไปตรงกับการประชุมใหญโรตารีสากล จึงฉุกคิดไดวา ทำไมผมไมสงใบลงทะเบียน ชำระคาลงทะเบียนประชุมใหญไปดวยเลย และไมเคยคิดวาประสบการณในครั้งกระนั้น จะเปลี่ยนแปลงชีวิตผม โดยสิ้นเชิง เมื่อเดินผานประตูหองประชุมใหญ ผมรูสึกตกใจมาก มันเปนเรื่อง ที่แมจะทราบกอนแลววาผมเปนสวนหนึ่งขององคกรระดับโลกที่มี สมาชิกทั่วโลกมากกวาหนึ่งลานคน แตก็ยังมีความรูสึกถึงบางสิ่งที่ได ไปยืนทามกลางพวกเขา ผมไดไปเขารวมการประชุมทุกวาระ ไปเดินดู ทุกๆ บูธในศาลามิตรภาพ และเรียนรูโครงการตางๆ ที่ผมไมเคยทราบ มากอนวาพวกทานสามารถดำเนินการอยูในโรตารี การประชุมใหญ คราวนั้นมิไดเพียงแตเปดตาผม แตยังเปดใจของผมอีกดวย โดยสราง แรงบันดาลใจใหผมเปลี่ยนแปลงภาพลักษณโรตารีไดอยางสิ้นเชิง สิ่งใด ที่โรตารีสามารถทำใหผม และสิ่งใดที่ผมสามารถกระทำไดโดยอาศัย โรตารี แรงบันดาลใจนั้นยังคงอยูกับผมมาจนถึงบัดนี้ และยังคงอยูใน การประชุมใหญโรตารีสากลทุกๆ ป

One early June, more than 30 years ago, I had a business trip scheduled to Las Vegas. I had been a Rotarian for about six years, and I thought of myself as an active member: I attended every meeting, I’d served as club secretary, I knew everyone in my club. But for me, Rotary was very much a community organization. It connected me to Nassau and perhaps even to the Bahamas - but no farther.

I had never given much thought to Rotary beyond the Bahamas, and it had never crossed my mind to travel to a Rotary convention.

But that spring, I realized that my trip to Las Vegas would coincide with the Rotary International Convention and thought, why not?

I sent in my registration and paid my fees, never suspecting that the experience would change my life.

When I walked through the doors of that convention, I was stunned. It was one thing to know that I was part of a global organization with over a million members around the world. It was something else altogether to stand there in the middle of it. I went to every general session, looked in at every booth at the House of Friendship, and learned about projects that I hadn’t even known you could do in Rotary. That convention didn’t just open my eyes. It opened my mind. It inspired me to completely change the way I saw Rotary, what Rotary could do for me, and what I could do through Rotary.

That inspiration has stayed with me ever since — and is renewed every year, at every Rotary convention.

In June 2019, Rotarians from all over the world will converge in Hamburg to Capture the Moment at the 110th Rotary International Convention. Many, like me, will have been coming to conventions for years; many others will be coming for the first time. Whether they’re looking to connect with old friends, to find inspiration for a new Rotary year, or simply to see what Rotary is all about, each of them will find their own moment in Hamburg.

Hamburg is a port city that connects Germany to the world and that has been an economic and cultural hub for centuries. It’s a wonderful place to visit — to stroll the shores of the city’s lake, take a boat trip on the Elbe River, dine out, hear great music, and explore fascinating museums. It’s also the ideal place to kick off a European vacation.

If you’re a regular convention goer, you absolutely won’t want to miss out on the friendship and inspiration you’ll find in Hamburg.

Every year we celebrate November as Rotary Foundation Month. How fortunate we are to have a world-class Foundation that allows us to do so much good in the world. We should all take pride in the fact that something good happens every second of every day because of Rotarians and our Rotary Foundation.

Remember how excited we were at the 2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, where we celebrated the Foundation’s first 100 years. The fundraising goal for that year was $300 million, and, as you recall, we raised $304 million to exceed that goal.

It was a landmark year for the Foundation.

In the 2017-18 Rotary year, as the Foundation entered its second century of service, we had an even more ambitious fundraising goal of $360 million. At the convention in Toronto in June, outgoing Trustee Chair Paul A. Netzel told attendees that we once again had a landmark year for our Foundation, setting a one-year fundraising record of $373 million.

This year our fundraising goal totals $380 million. Our goal for polio is $50 million, which will be turned into $150 million through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation matching grant. Add to that a $137 million goal for the Annual Fund, $61.5 million for the Endowment Fund, and $31.5 million for global grant cash and other outright gifts, and our many programs will be fully funded and Rotarians will be completely equipped and empowered to continue making real change.

โครงการป นจักรยานเพ�่อขจัดโปลิโอ ณ กรุงย างกุ ง ประเทศเมียนมาร

กรรมการรณรงค ขจัดโปลิโอแห งชาติ สโมสรโรตาร�ย างกุ ง

สถานการณโปลิโอในประเทศเมียนมาร คณะกรรมการรณรงคขจัดโปลิโอแหงชาติเมียนมาร (ครปม.) กอตั้งขึ้นโดยความเห็นชอบของคณะกรรมการบริหารมูลนิธิโรตารี ในเดือนสิงหาคม 2018 หลังการมาเยี่ยมของประธานคณะกรรมการกองทุนมูลนิธิโรตารี (ปโรตารี 2017-18) เมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคม ป 2018 และคณะกรรมการโปลิโอ พลัส ในเดือน กรกฎาคม 2018 บทบาทของ ครปม. คือการจัดโครงการรณรงคเพื่อขจัดโปลิโอโดยรวมมือกับหนวยงานของรัฐและองคกรตางๆ ภายในประเทศ เพื่อสงเสริมใหประชาชน ในสถานที่หางไกล และประชากรที่ยากจนในประเทศเมียนมาร ไดเขาถึงความชวยเหลือดานการปองกันโรคโปลิโอและการสรางความตระหนักในชุมชน ประเทศเมียนมาร ประกาศเปนประเทศที่ปลอดจากโปลิโอตั้งแตป 2007 และในเดือนมีนาคม 2014 ไดเฉลิมฉลองชัยชนะอันยิ่งใหญเหนือโปลิโอ รวมทั้ง ไดรับใบประกาศในการพนจากการติดเชื้อจากโปลิโอในระดับภูมิภาคอยางสมบูรณ อยางไรก็ตาม กระบวนการติดตามผลยังตองดำเนินไปอยางตอเนื่องเพื่อ ใหมั่นใจวาเด็กๆ จะไดรับการปองกันจากโรคนี้ตลอดไป ดังนั้น กระทรวงสาธารณสุขและกีฬาจึงไดสนับสนุนงบประมาณประจำปในการผลิตวัคซีนปองกัน โปลิโอ จำนวน 26 % และคาดวาจะสนับสนุนไดทั้ง 100 % ในป 2025

Now, it’s up to you and me. We have the chance to forge a path of ever-increasing relevance and influence - to choose the direction and tempo of the Foundation’s second century.

บัดนี้ เปนโอกาสของทานและของผมที่จะเดินหนาสรางสิ่งที่เกี่ยวเนื่อง มีผล กระทบเพิ่มมากขึ้นตลอดไป โดยการเลือกใชแนวทางและจังหวะ ทวงทีของมูลนิธิใน ศตวรรษที่สอง

I’m challenging you to increase your involvement in our Foundation - by doing, by giving, and by inspiring. Together we can make tomorrow even brighter than today. We can make every month Rotary Foundation Month. So, Be the Inspiration, build your Rotary legacy, and let’s make this yet another landmark year in our history.

ผมขอทาทายใหทานไดเพิ่มขยายการมีสวนรวมกับมูลนิธิโรตารีของเรา ดวยการ ลงมือกระทำ ดวยการบริจาค และดวยการสรางแรงบันดาลใจ พวกเราสามารถทำให วันพรุงนี้สวางไสวกวาวันนี้ไปพรอมๆ กัน เราสามารถทำใหทุกๆ เดือนเปนเดือนแหง มูลนิธิโรตารี ดังนั้น ขอทานไดโปรด รวมสรางแรงบันดาลใจ สรางตำนานโรตารีของ ตัวทาน โปรดชวยทำใหปนี้เปนปประวัติศาสตรของเราอีกหนึ่งปดวยกันเถิด

Every year we celebrate November as Rotary Foundation Month. How fortunate we are to have a world-class Foundation that allows us to do so much good in the world. We should all take pride in the fact that something good happens every second of every day because of Rotarians and our Rotary Foundation.

Remember how excited we were at the 2017 Rotary International Convention in Atlanta, where we celebrated the Foundation’s first 100 years. The fundraising goal for that year was $300 million, and, as you recall, we raised $304 million to exceed that goal. It was a landmark year for the Foundation.

In the 2017-18 Rotary year, as the Foundation entered its second century of service, we had an even more ambitious fundraising goal of $360 million. At the convention in Toronto in June, outgoing Trustee Chair Paul A. Netzel told attendees that we once again had a landmark year for our Foundation, setting a one-year fundraising record of $373 million.

This year our fundraising goal totals $380 million. Our goal for polio is $50 million, which will be turned into $150 million through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation matching grant. Add to that a $137 million goal for the Annual Fund, $61.5 million for the Endowment Fund, and $31.5 million for global grant cash and other outright gifts, and our many programs will be fully funded and Rotarians will be completely equipped and empowered to continue making real change.

Now, it’s up to you and me. We have the chance to forge a path of ever-increasing relevance and influence - to choose the direction and tempo of the Foundation’s second century.

I’m challenging you to increase your involvement in our Foundation - by doing, by giving, and by inspiring. Together we can make tomorrow even brighter than today. We can make every month Rotary Foundation Month. So, Be the Inspiration, build your Rotary legacy, and let’s make this yet another landmark year in our history.

การศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน

หมายถึงการศึกษากอนระดับอุดมศึกษา ซึ่งแบงออกเปน 3 ระดับ คือ ระดับกอนประถมศึกษา ระดับประถมศึกษา และระดับมัธยมศึกษา ประกอบ ดวยการจัดการศึกษาไมนอยกวา 12 ป

การรูหนังสือ (Literacy)

คือความสามารถที่เขาใจภาษาในระดับที่เหมาะสมในการติดตอสื่อสาร โดยทั่วไป ทำใหทำงานไดสมบูรณตามระดับในสังคม

Inspirational "Basic education and literacy" Education is a learning process for the advancement of individuals and society by transferring knowledge, training, cultural persuasion.

Creativity promotes academic progress. Creation of knowledge from the environment, society, learning and supportive factors for people to learn continuously.

Basic education refers to pre-university education. There are 3 levels of pre-primary education, primary school and high school.

Composed of at least 12 years of education.

Literacy is the ability to understand a language at the appropriate level of communication in general. Make it work in the social level.

Currently, a survey by the Department of Interior, Ministry of Interior (2560) found that the population aged less than 15 years illiterate is 8 percent, which corresponds to non-school education, found that 6.9 million illiterate people from 66 million. People of Thailand at the same time, the government has given importance to the management of basic education. And campaign to free from illiteracy of Thais with ways to promote lifelong education for the community. Opportunity for community participation in education. On 18 November 2018 the Membership Committee is arranging an inter-city meeting at Paiboon Kaiyang restaurant in Singburi province, co-hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Singburi and Singburi Weerachon. This inter-city meeting will allow Rotarians from various clubs in the district to meet and exchange their Rotary experience.

To give you a better overview of inter-city meetings and how they came about, I have extracted the following article on inter-city meetings from the September 1960 issue of The Rotarian magazine. I trust this will give you shed some light on the origin of inter-city meetings and how they became an integral part of Rotary.

About the InterCity meeting Early in Rotary’s history the InterCity meeting became popular as an effective way to extend the opportunities for fellowship and acquaintance beyond the boundaries of a Rotarian’s own community. Rotary annals indicate that the “No.2 and “No.3” Rotary Clubs of the world-San Francisco and Oakland, California-held the first of these meetings in 1912.

So successful was this first joint gathering that these same two bayside Clubs soon met again in San Francisco, the meeting being hailed as a “transbay love feast.” Reporting the event in The Rotarian for April, 1913, an Oakland member wrote:

For a long time the live businessmen in both Oakland and San Francisco have realized that these two cities have many things in common, and to bring about a better understanding of one Club’s obligation to the other, and cooperation among the members, the joint meeting was held.

In 1914, intercity meeting received their first official encouragement when the National Association of Rotary Clubs endorsed them as a way of celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the first Rotary Club. Every Club was asked to hold a joint meeting with another.

Since its inauguration and expansion during Rotary’s first decade, the intercity meeting has become a popular custom among Rotary Clubs around the world. In India an “inter-Club visit” recently brought together the memberships of the Rotary Clubs of Tuticorin and Sivakasi. In Argentina the Rotary Club of Remedios de Escalada celebrated its fifth anniversary by holding an intercity meeting with the Rotary Clubs of Valentin Alsina and Lanus.

So “sold” on the intercity meeting as a means of widening opportunities for fellowship and service are some Clubs that they hold a dozen or more a year. The Rotary Club of West Van Nuys, California, is a good example. In 1959-60 it held joint meetings with nearly every one of the 26 Clubs in its District.

The Rotary Clubs of Tecate Mexico and Lawndale, California, exchange visits regularly, as do other Rotary Clubs along the USA – Mexican border.

In addition to expanding the sphere of friendship for Rotarians, the Intercity meeting also: • provides an opportunity for discussion of economic and social problems that affect larger areas served by more than one Rotary Club; • makes it possible for the engagement of speakers who perhaps would not be obtainable by the individual Rotary Club.

The mechanics of arranging an intercity meeting are simple. If your Rotary Club decides to act as host for one, all it need do is check with the District Governor to avoid any overlapping of arrangements with the participating Clubs. Occasionally it happens that more than one Club is planning an intercity meeting in a District at the same time. After receiving a “go ahead” from the Governor, your Club is then ready to set a date and proceed with organization of necessary Committees. (The steps for Committee organization are outlined in Paper 407, Intercity Meeting, available at the Central Office in Evanston, Illinois, free of charge. To it is attached a “must do” list in arranging special Rotary meetings.)

This year Rotary’s President, J Edd McLaughlin, places on you, the individual Rotarian, new responsibility for expressing Rotary and expanding it. “Expressing Rotary and expanding it. “Extend your circle of helpfulness and thoughtfulness,” he suggests, and one way for you to do this to broaden your Rotary contacts and experiences. The intercity meeting is ideally suited to help you accomplish this. Plan one, attend one at your first opportunity!

สำหรับสโมสรโรตารีที่อุปถัมภสโมสรโรทาแรคทอยู อาจจะคุนเคยกับ “การประชุมโรทาแรคทภาคพื้นเอเชียแปซิฟก – Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC)” ซึ่งโรทาแรคทประเทศไทยไดมีโอกาสเปนเจาภาพในการจัดงานแลว 2 ครั้ง คือ ป 2555 ที่กรุงเทพ และ ป 2560 ที่ภูเก็ต และนี่เปนตัวอยาง ที่ดีที่สุด สำหรับการตอบวา “เปนสมาชิกโรทาแรคท แลวไดอะไร – ทำไมโรตารีควรใหการสนับสนุนอยางตอเนื่อง?” โรทาแรคเทอรที่เปนผู จัดงาน ก็จะไดเรียนรู วิธีในการจัดงานระดับนานาชาติ การวางแผนที่ดี การติดตอกับองคกรตางๆ รูจักการรับมือกับปญหาตางๆ ที่เขามา ทั้งที่คาดเดาไวไดและปญหาเฉพาะหนา ภายใตการแนะนำของโรแทเรียน แตงานทั้งหมด โรทาแรคเทอรตองเปนผูริเริ่ม ในขณะที่โรทาแรคเทอรที่ไดไปเขารวมการประชุมฯ ก็จะไดพบเพื่อนโรทาแรคเทอรจากอีก 20 กวาประเทศ ทั้งในและนอกเอเชียแปซิฟกที่มา เขารวมเพื่อสรางพันธมิตร เรียนรูและแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมและโครงการบำเพ็ญประโยชนของกันและกัน อันนำไปสูโครงการระหวางประเทศ การชวยเหลือผูดอยโอกาส ในวงกวาง ที่สำคัญ เพื่อนที่ไดจากการประชุมฯก็จะเปนเพื่อนกันตลอดไป เมื่อโรทาแรคเทอรไดไปทำงานหรือมีธุรกิจเปนของตัวเอง พวกเขาก็จะมีคอนเนคชั่นที่ดีเปนของ ตัวเองดวย ทำใหพวกเขา มีโอกาสมากกวาคนอื่นๆทั่วๆไป ในปนี้ทานประธานโรตารีสากล แบรี แรซซิน ไดใหความสำคัญกับเยาวชนมาก โดยไดเดินทางมารวมการประชุม โรทาแรคทภาคพื้นเอเชียแปซิฟก ในปนี้ ที่กรุงมะนิลา ประเทศฟลิปปนส ดวยตัวของทานเอง พรอมกับสตรีหมายเลขหนึ่ง เอสเตอร แรซซิน ภริยา เมื่อพูดถึงโรทาแรคทประเทศไทย ปนี้เปนปที่พิเศษที่โรทาแรคทประเทศไทยจะมีอายุครบ 50 ป ในวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน 2561 ซึ่งตรงวันที่สโมสรโรทาแรคทแหงแรกใน ประเทศไทย ไดรับสารตราตั้งจากโรตารีสากล เขาเปนสมาชิกของโรตารีสากล เมื่อป พ.ศ. 2511 ดวยวาระพิเศษดังกลาว ประธานโรทาแรคทภาค ทั้ง 4 ภาค พรอมกับผูแทน โรทาแรคทภาค จึงเห็นพองกันที่จะใหโรทาแรคเทอรจากทุกสโมสรโรทาแรคทในประเทศไทย ไดทำกิจกรรมบำเพ็ญประโยชนรวมกันในปโรตารีนี้ เพราะนอกจากโรทาแรคเทอร ทั้ง 4 ภาคจะไดมีโอกาสทำความรูจัก สรางมิตรภาพ ทำประโยชนเพื่อสังคมรวมกัน ตามคำขวัญของโรทาแรคท คือ “Fellowship Through Service” หรือ “มิตรภาพสรางผลงาน” แลว ยังเปนการเฉลิมฉลอง 50 ปของโรทาแรคทประเทศไทยอีกทางหนึ่งดวย โดยการจัดการประชุมใหญรวม 4 ภาค – Rotaract Multi-District Conference เปนครั้งแรก ในเดือนเมษายน 2562 นี้ ซึ่งสโมสรโรทาแรคทในกัมพูชาและพมาที่อยูในภาคเราจะมารวมงานอีกดวย สำหรับภาค 3350 มีสโมสรโรทาแรคท 19 สโมสร โดยแบงเปน 15 สโมสรในเขตกรุงเทพและปริมณฑลของประเทศไทย 3 สโมสรในประเทศกัมพูชา และ 1 สโมสรใน ประเทศพมา ในปนี้ประธานโรทาแรคทภาคมีนโยบายใหผูแทนโรทาแรคทภาคไดไปเยี่ยมทุกสโมสรโรทาแรคทอยางเปนทางการอยางที่ปฎิบัติในประเทศอื่นๆ เพื่อใหผูแทน โรทาแรคทภาคไดรูจักทุกๆ สโมสรมากขึ้นและชวยสรางสัมพันธระหวางสโมสรในภาคใหแนนแฟนมากขึ้น ตองขอบคุณทานผูวาการภาคที่ใหการสนับสนุนผูแทนโรทาแรคท ภาคในการเยี่ยมสโมสรโรทาแรคทในกัมพูชาและพมาอีกดวย

ในรอบ 4 เดือนที่ผานมา ไดมีงานสำคัญตางๆ มากมาย ซึ่งเริ่มตั้งแตกอนปโรตารี อาทิเชน การอบรมสัมมนานายกสโมสรโรทาแรคทรับเลือก (RPETS) การประชุมโรทาแรคท ภาคพื้นเอเชียแปซิฟก (APRRC) ที่กรุงมะนิลา ประเทศฟลิปปนส การอบรมคณะกรรมการบริหารสโมสรโรทาแรคทภาค (RDTA) และพิธีสถาปนาผูแทนโรทาแรคทภาคและ คณะกรรมการบริหารโรทาแรคทภาค ในสวนของแตละสโมสรโรทาแรคท ก็ไดมีการจัดงานสถาปนาฯ และโครงการบำเพ็ญประโยชนตางของแตละสโมสร ซึ่งผมจะเลาสูกันฟง ในโอกาสตอไปครับ

Dear Rotary Club Presidents and fellow Rotarians, In general, many of you would know that Rotaract is a service club for youth aged 18 – 30 or University students. However, Rotaractors do not only get to implement service projects to help those in need that they regularly do, but they also get to learn, gain leadership skills and new experience as well as international connection and visions.

For those Rotary clubs that currently sponsor Rotaract clubs, you may be familiar with Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC), which Rotaract Thailand had the privilege to host the Conference twice – first in Bangkok in 2012 and second in Phuket in 2017. The APRRC is a great example to the questions: “What do you gain from being a Rotaractor?” and “Why should Rotary continue to support Rotaractors?”. The Rotaractors who are the host organizing the event will learn how to organize a big event at the international level, how to have proper and good planning, how to contact with other organization, and how to cope with both foreseeable and unforeseeable problems and issues that may occur. All of these are to be under the guidance of Rotarians, but Rotaractors must be the ones to take the initiatives in organizing the Conference. For Rotaractors who attend the Conference, they will have to opportunity to meet fellow Rotaractors from over 20 countries – both from inside and outside the Asia Pacific Region – to create friendship, learn and exchange cultures and service projects of one another. Such fellowship and experience gained can lead to service projects at the international level at the larger scale. More importantly, friends from the Conference can be friends for life. Once the Rotaractors enter their careers and have businesses of their own, they will have personal connections that are beneficial to themselves; and hence, this makes them have greater opportunity than others. This Rotary year, RI President Barry Rassin has given importance to youth. He has personally attended the APRRC this year in Manila, Philippines with his wife, First Lady Esther Rassin.

Talking about Rotaract Thailand, this Rotary year we will reach 50th Anniversary of Rotaract Thailand on 4 November 2018, which is the day that the first Rotaract club in Thailand received its Charter Certificate from Rotary International to become the official member back in 1968. With such auspicious occasion, the District Rotaract Chairs of all 4 Rotary Districts in Thailand, with District Rotaract Representatives, have come to an agreement to have joint project together this Rotary year. Not only that Rotaractors from all 4 Districts will have the opportunity to meet, create fellowship, and do service project together in accordance to the Motto of Rotaract: “Fellowship Through Service”, but they will also have the opportunity to celebrate 50th Anniversary of Rotaract Thailand together as well. So, this year we will have Rotaract Multi-District Conference for the first time. In addition, Rotaract clubs in Cambodia and Myanmar that are part of our District will join the Conference as well.

For District 3350, we have 19 Rotaract clubs – 15 clubs in Bangkok and Metropolitan of Thailand, 3 clubs in Cambodia, and 1 club in Myanmar.

This Rotary year, the District Rotaract Chair has the policy for District Rotaract Representative (DRR) to have Official Visits to different Rotaract clubs in the District, as done in other countries. The purpose of DRR’s Official Visits is for DRR to learn and get to know about each Rotaract club, and create unity among Rotaract clubs in the District. I must thank District Governor for supporting DRR to visit Rotaract clubs in Cambodia and Myanmar too.

For the past 4 months, there are various events and activities done, which started before the Rotary year such as Rotaract Presidents-elect Training Seminar (RPETS), Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference (APRRC) in Manila, Philippines, Rotaract District Training Assembly (RDTA) and Installation Ceremony of DRR and Rotaract District Committee. For each Rotaract club, they have had their own Club Officers Installation Ceremony and service projects, which I will talk about next time.

มวลมิตรโรแทเรียน ผมรูสึกดีใจที่หลายสโมสรไดจัดทำสารสโมสรกันอยางจริงจัง ถือไดวาสารสโมสรเปนเครื่องมือที่ดีอันหนึ่งในการสรางมิตรภาพ ใหเกิดขึ้นในหมูสมาชิกดวยการสื่อสารกันอยางทั่วถึงและสม่ำเสมอ นอกจากสารสโมสรแลว ผมยังมีความคิดวาเรานาจะสื่อสาร กับชุมชนดวยซึ่งมีความจำเปนตอความสำเร็จของภารกิจของเรา เพื่อที่วาเราจะไดมีความใกลชิดกับชุมชนมากขึ้น เขาใจความตอง การของชุมชนมากขึ้น โดยผมไดทดลองนำเสนอหนังสือพิมพชุมชน ขึ้นโดยมีโลโกของสโมสรเราอยูดวย ในรูปแบบของขาวเศรษฐกิจ ชุมชน กิจกรรมที่สำคัญๆ ของโรตารีที่เปนประโยชนตอชุมชน กิจกรรมของชุมชน/จังหวัดที่โรตารีสามารถเขารวมได คาใชจายก็ แสนประหยัดเพราะเราเผยแพรทางไลน กระแสตอบรับดีมาก โรตารีเปนที่รูจักของชุมชนมากขึ้น และเชนกัน เราก็รูจักชุมชนมาก ขึ้นดวย แตที่สำคัญสโมสรผมไดสมาชิกเพิ่มดวยเพราะหนังสือพิมพ ของเราแท ๆ เพื่อนๆ มีประสบการณอยางไร แวะมาทักทาย มาแลกเปลี่ยน ประสบการณกันในไลนไดนะครับ

Fellow Rotarians, I am delighted to learn that a lot of Rotary Clubs have made “Club Bulletin” earnestly. I believe that club bulletin plays a vital role in promoting friendship among our members by mean of communicating thoroughly and regularly.

Furthermore, communicating with our community is also important to the success of our mission. It will serve as a strong binding bridge between our club and community, create a closer relationship and make us know each other better. As a result, I came up with the idea of launching “The Community Bulletin” with our Club Logo on it. The content of such bulletin is mainly related to community economy, the useful Rotary’s activities as well as all community activities that Rotarians may join. No expenses are required since we use “LINE”. The feedback is huge, but the more important thing has occurred, I got new members !, amazing.

ภาค 3350 โรตารีสากล และมูลนิธิโรตารี มีทุนสนับสนุนดาน การศึกษา 4 ประเภท ไดแก

Rotary District 3350 and Rotary Foundation offer grants for four types of scholarships:

1. ทุนการศึกษาโดยทุนสมทบระหวางประเทศ ทุนประเภทนี้ใหกับนักศึกษาที่กำลังศึกษาในสาขาที่โรตารีมุงเนน 6 ดาน โดยตองศึกษาในตางประเทศ และมีวงเงินสนับสนุนประมาณ 960,000 บาท ตอป

1. Global Grant Scholarship The Global Grant Scholarship is designed for students who are studying in one of Rotary’s six areas of focus. The study must be in a graduate level in a country other than Thailand. The Grant is approximately US $30,000.00 annually.

2. ทุนการศึกษาโดยทุนสนับสนุนภาค ภาค 3350 มุ งเนนใหทุนในดานอาชีวศึกษา มียอดเงินสนับสนุน 80,000 บาทตอป (รวม 4 ป) ภาคจะจัดสรรประมาณ 10-20 ทุนในป 2019-20

2. District Grant Scholarship The District Grant Scholarship is for vocational school study.

The amount is Baht 80,000.00 per student (cover 4 years). The district will provide 10 to 20 scholarships in 2019-20.

3. ทุนการศึกษาดานสันติภาพ มูลนิธิโรตารีใหทุนการศึกษามากถึง 50 ทุนสำหรับการศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท และอีก 50 ทุนในระดับประกาศนียบัตรการอบรมระยะสั้น ณ สถาบันการศึกษา ชั้นนำทั่วโลก สำหรับโปรแกรมระดับปริญญาโทใชเวลาในการศึกษาประมาณ 15-25 เดือน และระดับประกาศนียบัตร ราว 3 เดือน โดยมีการศึกษาดูงาน นอกสถานที่ประมาณ 2-3 สัปดาห

3. Scholarship for Peace Program The Rotary Foundation awards up to 50 fellowships for master’s degrees and 50 for certificate studies at premier universities around the world. The master program may take 15 to 25 months and the certificate program last for three months with two to three weeks of field study.

4. ทุน UNESCO-IHE มูลนิธิโรตารีใหทุนจำนวนจำกัดเฉพาะผูที่ทำงานเกี่ยวกับน้ำสะอาดและ สุขอนามัย เพื่อไปศึกษาที่สถาบัน UNESCO-IHE เพื่อการศึกษาเรื่องน้ำ ณ เมืองเดลฟท ประเทศเนเธอรแลนด

4. UNESCO-IHE Scholarships The Rotary Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships annually for water and sanitation professionals to study at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, the Netherlands.

ขอมูลทั่วไป ผู สมัครทุนขางตนจะตอง ไมเปน (1) โรแทเรียน (2) พนักงานของสโมสร โรตารีในภาค 3350 หรือองคกรโรตารีสวนหนึ่งสวนใด หรือ เจาหนาที่ของโรตารี สากล (3) คูครอง หรือผูเกี่ยวของทางสายเลือดของโรแทเรียน ผูสมัครทุนจะตองอุปถัมภโดยสโมสรโรตารีในภาค 3350 ทั้งนี้ ใบสมัคร ขอรับทุนและเอกสารที่เกี่ยวของจะสามารถคนหาไดทางเว็บไซดของภาค 3350 ในเร็วๆ นี้

General Information The Applicant for scholarship cannot be: (1) a Rotarian; (2) an employee of a Club, District, or other Rotary Entity, or of Rotary International; (3) the spouse, a lineal descendant.

Scholarship Applicants must be sponsored by a Rotary Club in District 3350. Applications forms and other relevant information will be available in the Website of District 3350 soon.

Greetings fellow Rotarians, In this month of Rotary Foundation, have you donated to the Rotary Foundation yet? The funds that you donated – not only that they will be returned in the form of DDF in the next 3 years for the club to do service projects, currently the District Rotary Foundation Chair (DRFC) also provide special bonus that allows the club to do service projects right away.

Although the RI exchange rate has already slightly increased to be 33 Baht per 1 US Dollar, please do not wait for the exchange rate to decrease if you have the intention to make the donation.

For the photos on the front cover page, the past 2 months they are what relate to the theme of each month. Though there were no Rotarians in those photos, but the feedbacks have been positive. I must thank AG.Virat Ngamkham (RC Phra Nakhon) for sacrificing the time taking those photos. Nonetheless, it is such a pity that the photo competition from the Photo Shooting Subcommittee has gained so little interest.

This book we have the story and photos from the club in the neighbor country, which is “Ride to End Polio” from the Rotary Clubs in Yangon that was done in cooperation with other organizations in Myanmar. If there are more interesting stories from clubs in our District from neighbor country, I will share with you again.
