SOLSTICE Planning and Architecture provides a variety of expertise in the design and creation of homes, from modest renovations of the old to luxurious construction heralding the new.

Rather than brashly uprooting everything lying in the pathway of construction, we design with an environmental consciousness. Our architects and designers are committed to preserving natural resources, and they work carefully to include them as project features. Additionally, our firm has extensive experience with the design and construction of homes that are LEED and Florida Green Building Coalition Certified.

Our goal is to create truly memorable, elegant homes, with importance placed not only on the tangible, such as volume and shape, but also on immaterial elements such as transparency, light, and space. PROJECTS

The concept for this nationally award-winning residence was to blend a traditional 1920’s scheme with a modern appreciation for simplicity, precision, and geometry. The home utilizes natural light to bring a sense of organic nature indoors, while the courtyard nature of the home creates a blend of indoor/outdoor living.

Unembellished walls emphasize the fine details such as the doors, light fixtures, and stairs. Rich wood floors, juxtaposed with clean white walls, create an effortlessly sophisticated and elegant interior.

The concept for the outdoor areas was to extend the interior architecture by creating a series of intimate, exterior spaces within an elegant, unified outdoor area. Using architectural and landscape elements, six "rooms" have been articulated: a moon garden, swimming pool, outdoor kitchen, master bedroom and garden, courtyard, and formal lawn.

White-on-white architecture, defined by light and shadows, creates a simplistic elegance.

The attention to outdoor lighting brings the spaces to life in the evening. When the natural light of the day fades, the beauty of the house does not - rather, it is illuminated through warm, golden lighting inviting you home.

This outdoor living area in Bradenton, Florida combines European sophistication with tropical elegance. The owners' vision was to transform their under-utilized backyard into an outdoor space that epitomizes Florida resort living.

Located in Boca Grande, a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, this 5,500-square-foot residence was designed to reflect and facilitate the homeowners’ desire to relax and spend time with family in this vacation home. The concept of the layout was to highlight waterfront views and maximize balmy offshore breezes.

These interior spaces focus on highlighting property views and utilizing abundant natural light through expansive windows.

Additional clerestory windows subtly emphasize ceiling architecture.
